I have the footage ready, just need to record the commentary.

I have not been feeling very well the last couple of days; will do my best to get this out there ASAP.

Apologies for letting you down. :(

Okay folks, so with the arrival of Patch 1.63 last week; I did not have time to get the new review together.

So instead, I decided to put together a Channel Update outlining my future aims in terms of my reviews.

Feel free to take a look if you are interested! :)

Will get the new review out as soon as I can...

Following on from our review of the Sea Hurricane Mk. IB, here's its younger sub-variant, the Mk. IC.

Surely having 4x20mm Hispano Mk. II Cannon makes everything great?

Sea Hurricane Mk. IC - A Difficult Compromise

Next time? We shift back up to higher Battle Ratings and take a look at the Ki-84 Otsu.

Stay classy you fine Arcade Aces! ;)

I have played the bf109 F-2 in AB recently. Its BR is very much too high. It simply lacks the punch to qualify as a BR 3.0 plane.  It flies well but eventually you have to put ordinance on target. The F-2's 15mm cannon is simply not up to the task. Sure, a great pilot can do well with the F-2, but the same pilot could mop up quicker with an E-4. The F-2 is not an upgrade and should be skipped.

You'll get a lot of assists when flying the F-2 because you won't be able to actually shoot much down.  You might do well if you keep your other main planes at a BR of 2.3 or so, so your F-2 will be one of the big dogs in the skies. But against peers? Fugedaboutit. Against peers, it took forever to actually get the thing upgraded. Fly into battle empty guns, get an assist. Rinse repeat.

I could see this plane having a BR of 2.7.

Yet another edit - I never got the plane spaded. It simply killed too slowly to earn the points.

I believe the BF 109 F-2 is now BR 3.0? It feels fine as is to me.

I think the plane performs just fine at its BR. The emphasis on the F-2 in my opinion is not on its ability to "mop-up" foes; but the fact that it teaches you how to bleed out the energy states of your foes to the point where they sit there in the sky; waiting for you to swoop down on them for a clean cut kill with the 15mm.

All:

I have something special to give you all on Christmas day...stay tuned. :)

You are correct, it is 3.0. My mistake. It is not on par with the F-1, just the same.  Now, it may be true in real life that the F-2 could do this. But how does this apply to a game, where in something like a Domination match, there's no time for careful maneuvering and slowly bleeding an enemy?

Take a look at my review of the He 100 D-1; there's a visual example in there.

In short: when you have an individual who climbs up at you; and you do not feel confident in beating them via a head-on pass.

All:

Merry Christmas everyone! :)

To celebrate, here are two brand spanking new reviews of two aircraft newly introduced to the game as of Patch 1.65:

He 100 D-1 - Record Breaker

Ju 88 C-6 - Silent Night

After I've recovered from the festive fun; I will probably review the B-34 next as that looks rather tasty...stay tuned and have a good one! :D

Next time round? Well; I'm torn between doing the F6F-5N or the Hampden... ;)

I had the same feeling like few months ago when I feel the 109-E3/4 are way better than 109-F1/2 due to the fire power drop. After a while I went back to my German 3.0 line up for the Ju88-C6 (which is a pure fun to play with) then I suddenly found how fun 109-F2 is when you keep high speed/alt/energy level and it's pure fun/satisfying of the high speed handling of this beauty. The 15mm might not pack the instant punch like those 20mm guns but it's still a nice weapon to use, lots of ammo with nice trajectory it just connects easily, you shot down control surfaces/put fire on in a single pass and you still have lots of energy to do it again or find another target, it's a killer.

Hey all!

So having turned 24 today; I thought I would treat you all to a review of my favourite plane from the Second World War - the F6F-5N Hellcat. Enjoy!

F6F-5N Hellcat - Feeling a Little Bit Old

As for what's coming next time? A choice between the A-36 Apache and the BF 109 B-1/Late - it is your call as always! :)
