Beaufighter and torpedo drop

Hey,

dont get me wrong i play this game for more than a year now but i recently tried to release torpedos from my beaufighters and i couldnt destroy anything. I flew at low alt (from 200m to 5m).. still it says "too low". Also I dropped it from 1k to 100m before the target.. nothing..

am I doing something wrong or is there a bug?

What speed were you at? I've never hit anything lol, but I have had the indicator path come on and turn green. IIRC, I was at about 15m and doing about 200kmh.

you have to fly really slow, otherwise the torpedo just sinks.

Dropping a torpedo is a lot harder then it used to back when I started in 1.27

I fly at about 20m high, low speed, and drop about 200m out.

Usually hit the target that way.

Also, remember to lead quite significantly.

Using the British Mk XII you need to be under  280 kmh / 186 mph and under 40m / 131 ft, it's an okay torpedo but I much prefer the US Mark 13/44.

I made a reference guide so all the info anyone needs for torpedoes is in one spot:

I'm still trying to get better at dive bombing.  I can get 5, 6 or 7 ground kills in one pass and then turn around and get zero the next couple.  I've tried all manner of speed, angle, lead, etc and it's still very hit or miss for me.  After that first dive I stay tree top low for the next couple passes so I can sneak around, gaining a couple thousand feet just before diving on the targets.  Honestly, it seems like it's the game being hit or miss but maybe it's just me.
