Bf-109Z "Zwilling", The German F-82 Using the BF-109

As I said above. It was a plane with no flight data. If you want to make things interesting there are a lot more planes with dual fusilage design. War thunders goal is to become a semi combat simularor. We don't need any PAPER planes becauae they never flew. The only nation that should get paper planes is Japan. And for your other argument, last time I checked the b 29 and stuka actually flew. If you want non existent prototype planes play world of war planes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin-fuselage_aircraft

Looking there, planes mentioned that would fit time line would be:

Savoia-Marchetti S.55, Twin Hull Flying Boat, Italian so would be in with the Germans, 1st Flight August 1924, introduced 1926, Retired 1945, for Armament it would have (Based on the S.55X) 4x 7.7mm (.303) MGs, 1 Torpedo or 2000kg (4409LBs) of Bombs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savoia-Marchetti_S.55

The Russians had the Tupolev ANT-22, a Twin Hull Recon Flying Boat that never got past the Experimental Stages, 1st Flight was 1934, Would have 2x20mm Oerlikon cannons (one in left dorsal turret and one in right nose turret), 2 × 7.62 mm ShKAS machine guns (one in right dorsal turret and one in left nose turret), 2 × 7.62mm DA machine guns (one in each tail turret) & 6,000 kg (13,200 lb) bombs under wing centre section: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_ANT-22

The He-111Z That others have mention in this Thread: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heinkel_He_111#He_111Z

then the Bf-109Z that the Thread is about

Do 635, a Twin Do 335 Pfeil, Never Built: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dornier_Do_635

Savoia-Marchetti SM.92, a Italian heavy fighter/bomber Based on the Savoia-Marchetti SM.88, it had 3 × 20 mm MG 151 cannons, 3 × 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns & Up to 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) bombload, 1st Flight was October 1943 and logged over 21 Hours of Flight time, in March 1944 it was Mistaken for a P-38 Lightning and attacked by a Macchi C.205, it survived my performing evasive manoeuvres, but was so badly damaged it was grounded for months, Was Destroyed by Allied Bombing in 1944: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savoia-Marchetti_SM.92

Then the F-82 Twin Mustang that's already in Game

Other than those, There's the Belyayev DB-LK, a Prototype Russian Bomber With 4 × 7.62mm ShKAS machine guns; one pair to each tailcone & 2 × 7.62mm ShKAS machine guns; fixed, forward firing, in the wing centre section leading edge.Flight Testing went underway in 1940 where it had Excellent Performance but a high sensitivity to centre of gravity changes, Production was not Authorized:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belyayev_DB-LK

-snip-

The Savoia-Marchetti S.55 looks pretty cool. I wouldn't mind that being added. It will be one of the first flying boat with dual hull design. If you want, I suggest you make a suggestion about that plane. It will be more unique than the 109z.

We don't need any real planes either, because they did fly.

Yup, we live in a world were people get offended by geometric shapes...

What's next, "I feel offended by triangles, ban triangles!" Pshh, yea right, grow a pair and deal with it like a man.

I thought this plane never flew...where is the data coming from?

Edit http://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/234805-add-the-zwilling/

Some one else wanted this to be added and a lot of people disagreed with it because it was a paper plane that never flew. Gaijin has to make up a fake FM for the 109z that may or may not be correct. There are so many better german fighters that could be added. Paper planes only should be added to countries that is lacking planes. Thats why japan got the r2y2s. Germany has plenty of planes and this is not an issue. With that said, The Zwilling is not needed in war thunder.

Indeed.

A LOT people don't want to fight a team full of paper planes/mockups/never flewn prototypes with (mostly over-) estimated stats which will be used more often than real planes.

There are enough real planes left. Some nations (like Japan) need late war prototypes like A7M, G8N. Personally I think even the R2Y2 was not necessarly needed.

If you want to play a really unrealistic game with estimated flight models go play WoWP.#

No need for the Me 109Z, Do 635 or He 111Z ingame. There are enough at least tested planes like SM 92 if you really want a twin engined fighter (which will most likely need in an italian tree due the lack of medium-sized heavy fighters)

so what does an Italian Fighter have to do with the german tree when the italians will get their own tree?...

They also prototyped the SM92 which could also be in their tree.

In theory it would have 3x 30mm Cannons, 2 in the nose and 1 in the central wing, with 2 more in Gun pods, so yeah it should, but in that same theory it could also be capable of carrying a torpedo, or anything up to 3000lbs of ordnance.

I would have to be against this.

While there was only 1 airframe built. It never flew at all, i'm pretty against the Horton as that's quite fantasy as it stands but at least one of prototypes actually flew so there's something to go on. The flight model for this would have to be fiction, and would rather it wasn't put in.

lmao what's the difference

The difference is that with a plane that flew, there's usually records that show how it performed. Otherwise it's all guesswork. Edited by ItsCalledSoccer

No, you have all the technical specs too to calculate how it flew.
