Vulcan XH558: The end of the V Bomber era

Well sadly that time of year has come.

Vulcan XH558 has performed her last public display, this Sunday 4th October.

All that remains is her final farewell tour of the UK this weekend and her final flight in late October.

Quite appropriately, the Vulcan bowed out of its last display this weekend with the words:

"Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened."

Everyone forgets the Victor, she had an extended career due to the conversion to air-refueling platform.

My Dad was stationed at RAF Marham when we still had the Victor (and 39 sqn Canberra's) good days, I've always had a soft spot for the Victor.
