Using Jewish slave labor is never a good idea

Using Jewish slave labor is never a good idea

Bendiner-Bomber-Crew.jpg

Sabotage, even the littlest bit, can be effective. Just take the story of the B-17 Tondelayo, its crew, and eleven 20mm shells.

Elmer Bendiner the bombardier described a raid over Kassel, Germany:

“Our B-17, the Tondelayo, was barraged by flak from Nazi antiaircraft guns. That was not unusual, but on this particular occasion our gas tanks were hit. Later, as I reflected on the miracle of a 20 millimeter shell piercing the fuel tank without touching off an explosion, our pilot, Bohn Fawkes, told me it was not quite that simple. On the morning following the raid, Bohn had gone down to ask our crew chief for that shell as a souvenir of unbelievable luck. The crew chief told Bohn that not just one shell but 11 had been found in the gas tanks. 11 unexploded shells where only one was sufficient to blast us out of the sky. It was as if the sea had been parted for us. A near-miracle, I thought. He was told that the shells had been sent to our armorers to be defused. The armorers told him that our Intelligence Unit had picked them up. They could not say why at the time, but Bohn eventually sought out the answer."

"Apparently when the armorers opened each of those shells, they found no explosive charge. They were as clean as a whistle and just as harmless. Empty? Not all of them! One contained a carefully rolled piece of paper. On it was a scrawl in Czech. The Intelligence people scoured our base for a man who could read Czech. Eventually they found one to decipher the note. It set us marveling."

Indeed, one of the mistakes of the Great Third Reich was the enslavement of the chosen (?) people.

Well, to be honest real slaves didn't have access to a library, pool, postal services, cinema, theatre, kindergarten(?) and medical staff. Not to mention special currency.

But the Jews did what every normal person would do against his enemies- make sure they lose, so no one can blame them for that.

PROVE IT!! (Not the OP, but those telling the story)

Photo Evidence and Physical (with pics of the shells, the hole in planes tank and the lack of explosive filler)
Not hearsay and testimonies.

LMAO like the people in forced labour camps gave a care about those in bomber planes or fighters fighting the war..
They had a lot of their own issues to deal with, like staring and being killed.

Sounds like hopeful propaganda to me..

Its pretty well known that the slave laborers regularly sabotaged German equipment in the assembly line. The message seems a little far fetched, and so does 11 shells, but i can see the dud shells being real.

Really this in it self is even hard to believe and there is no evidence for it only word of mouth and "what people saw"

I am following a lot of gun collectors on YouTube and they widely know that late war K98 rifles and G43 rifles suffer from sabotage. The gas ports would be drilled only partially for example, a type of sabotage you can hardly detect.

Furthermore sights would be misaligned etc.

Yes sabotage was a thing.

Which slaves are we talking about?

Historically speaking, it really depended on the Nation. Roman Slaves by 178 CE had quite a few rights actually, especially since Spartacus rebellion had starting with Claudius in 41 CE grant powers such as abandoned slaves by their Masters were considered Free. He also allowed freed slaves to obtain citizenship. Educated slaves also had the right to earn wages since 200 BCE, which they could use to buy their freedom. This was especially so for captured Greeks and other educated peoples who had jobs as engineers, teachers, and other high class professions. Many of which were well treated with their own quarters and had 3 days off a week.

By the end of 180 CE, they had the right to file charges against their masters for unfair/foul and or abusive treatment. Owners could be tried for murder if they killed a slave without proper cause, which was tried by record a few times within Spain and Gaul, Also during Saturnalia they had the right for 6 days, full freedoms of a free man in Rome. Free speech, gambling, travel, and other such privileges such as allowing them to speak against their Masters and be free of punishment during this period including insults. From December 17-23 roughly, they wore a cap showing their freedom and were basically allowed for 6 days a year a way to vent. The state also threw them a feast and banquets. Basically, the idea was if they treat them good, and proper, their chances of rebellion were far lower and their work would be far more productive.

Now looking over at our own issues of Slavery within the USA before we abolished it, yeah, that's a whole different story, but we really can't go into that as it goes from "Historical knowledge" into "Politics" really fast.

Do we get this as ammo belt choice soonTM?

You already do. It's any of the shells that spark.

I know a lot of hunters who also collect weapons and none of them ever bought a wartime K-98 (you can use them for hunting here), but one bought a G 43 and he wanted to make sure the rifle is ok and let it check by a rifle manufacturer, this did cost him more as buying the damn thing.

The Germans used plenty of slave labor (and not just Jews either) and there were acts of production sabotage on a massive scale.

Everything from faults built into engines, artillery/gun barrels, ammunition, factory equipment, etc.

For example, Polish workers built in faults into an estimated 92,000 artillery shells.

Sabotage was very common in german equipment being manufactured in the ocuppied countries.

FN Herstal workers intentionally grossly manufactured weapons intended for the german army for example.

But it went further than that. A good idea of the level of sabotage  and their impact on the reliability and overall performance of german equipment , particularly ground equipment, can be found on book  The Last Battle by Cornelius Ryan , that I highly advise those interested to read.

Sounds great, but need SOURCE.

There is a story about the B-17 Yankee Doodle (I think), not only exaggerating of actual events, but had the B-17 do things it was not capable of doing.

Great posting!  Funny story and somewhat true of all the slave labors.  The sabateurs risked their life to do this, even the lives of their fellow workers.  Glad to know that some of their work saved lives.  (Probably more than we'll ever know.)

I'm pretty sure I saw a program on Discovery or C5 a while ago about a tank restorer, and i cant think now if it was a Krad or Hetzer he was restoring, but when they stripped down the engine or gearbox, it was full of milling swarf. They said that was probably sabotage.

Or I could be talking out of my back-to-the-future. Its all so vague as I have slept since then.
