Location = Evansville, IN, USA (Midwest US)
Ping rate = 55-65
Connection type = Cable, advertised 300/50 Mbit/sec, likely less because of the ISP
Internet provider = Spectrum :Crying:
War Thunder server used = US

EDIT: Since New Power dropped, been consistently seeing pretty awful packet loss, usually around 3-7% but up to 30% rate in games.

Location = New Zealand, Auckland

Ping rate = 200-400

Connection type = ADSL

Internet provider = Spark

War Thunder server used = All

I never used to have problems with lag up until the 1.53 update. The netcode seemed to be so amazing that I would have no reg issues in either Air or Tank battles, but now after the patch ping is extremely inconsistent and I get massive packet loss causing the game to be unplayable. What ever they did to the game really needs to be sorted out as it seems lots of players outside the main zones eg. US, EU, RU etc... are having terrible performance. Worst update to date with all the new issues that have been introduced.

Gaijin went to a new game engine, (updated the old one).  Of course there are going to be a few bugs to squash with the new one.  But over time the lag issue should be improved.  Seems to be better for me over the last day or two.

Location = Iran

Ping rate = 130 - 200 ms

Connection type = ADSL broadband

Internet provider = Parsonline

War Thunder server used = US / EU

Although I'm all fine on random battles, I get mad pings like 400/500 ms in custom battles (EU and US servers). Wondering if anyone else has got this issue.

firstly, wth, I was under the assumption That Internet in Iran was monitored, I'd think they'd not let you play on here, but whatever, greetings from America

Location: North Carolina, USA

Ping: 60-70 US

80-120 EU

RU and SA give me 600+

connection: DOCSIS Modem, Ported via Ethernet cable to Wifi, which I use across my home.

Provider: Time Warner Cable Internet

Servers Used: US & EU

Its monitored/censored not banned entirely. In my previous clan we used to play with a dude from Iran, he even could connect into team speak. I don't think its as restrictive as the news make it seem.

Connection routes vary and hence so do the latency, but once connected to the game the ping is generally stable at a fixed rate.

Ping Rate (Server, <lower range> to <upper range>, Average/Most common latency value, Remarks):

SA 125 to 340, 285 (rarely varies from the average number, connection equally as healthy as US)

US 290 to 360, 310 (rarely varies from the average number)

RU 385 to 485, 415 (often at values 385 or 415 or 445 equally but rarely above 460, significant leading is required at point blank)

EU 445 to 520, 485 (severe leading is required, hit indications unreliable)

Connection Type: Copper Cable

ISP: TPG.com.au

Servers Used: All except EU

Remarks: European server is not used because I usually get above 500 msec latency, a somewhat permanent message saying "BAD NETWORK CONNECTION" is stuck on screen which has contributed to my loss of tracking enemy aircraft in combat (Simulator Battles).

How bout we have a poll for this?

hi, i currently lived in the middle east and since there are no servers here, i would like to get peoples opinions on the best server locations to use for WT??

I think best for someone in the Mid East is the EU server, maybe RU depending where in the Mid East, but EU is your best bet.

Bit of a newbie question here, but how do you connect to other servers? I'm only on the US server at the moment (~250+ ms ping, in Australia). I only got around to downloading it today.

(The server I'm looking for is the SA server if that matters.

There should be an option for it when you choose your gamemode at the bottom left of the menu - should have something along the lines of "Select server" within it. Click that and it should let you pick the servers you want.

Anyhoo, here's my pingrate and whatnot for reference:

Location: Sydney, Australia

Ping: 200-250 for US, 150-200 for SA and 300-400 for EU. RU not tested as my assumption is it yields worse ping than EU servers.

Internet service provider: Belong

Connection type: NBN

Servers used: US, SA and EU

Remarks: Ping ain't too bad on my side of the connection spectrum, and is very playable (War Thunder servers are made to be very ping-resistant comrade ))))) ), though I do admit it can get a bit trickier to aim sometimes in EU server matches thanks to the higher ping.

Servers are overstressed or Hit detection is broken again. I have ping 40 with packet loss under 5%, no downloading or other network usage, playing only EU, and after last patch and server update I constantly get lot of sparkles and not-detected hits with german cannons. It is impossible to get a kill in some situations, for example last game only 8 assists. Really really bad, everything was good until last patch/server update. Unplayable for me. Enemy planes do weird movements, sometimes they dissappear completely and show again in other direction. I´m basically firing on non-existing planes. Synchronisation is very very bad, I can´t get hits when firing at any distance any angle. Sitting behind bomber, aiming on its engines just to see lot of hit effects with no hit message. Worst case is the b´n´z it is alomst impossible to get a kill in short time during attack, so basically I can´t use german planes

Location =portugal
eu ping =60
us ping= 145
Ru ping = 110

Connection = adsl on wifi

since 1.53 ping sometimes climbs to 250+ from time to time and pl is always bouncing between 1 and 5%
Dont know if its because of minor bugs that came with patch or because my computer is having a hard time with the new dagor engine...

Basically anyone living in the Australia/Philippines/Singapore/Vietnam/etc. is screwed when it comes to servers since it's either good ping (below 300), or "quick"-ish queue times.

Same for everyone in the south hemisphere. I read guys having 20 to 140 ping and i cant even imagine how would it be like. You have no idea how frustrated you can get when you are playing see and enemy shoot see the shot going out of your cannon and sudenly you explote and no damage done to the enemy because the server received the enemy fire data before yours.

We have to deal with enemys that see us first, we see with delay, the shoot first, hit first because servers get their data first.

In planes we have to waste too much ammo because that lag, so we tend to spread shots knowing that by the time we see the plane, fire at it and the shots reach the server the enemy will be slighty in a diferent way, so you shoot in anticipation not just to his movement but to the delay.

Yea, it's so infuriating to be killed from someone/something that you don't see until later, in the post death replay on how you got killed. I wonder what it's like to have below 200ms of ping... Must be instantaneous.
