Youda008 2,791 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 Hello guys. I still remember the feeling, when i logged into the forum for the first time, started reading posts, and got totaly confused of all of those slang words, acronyms, shortened forms of the often used words like AB, HB, RB, BR, MM, props, nerfed, buffed, ... So my idea is: It would maybe make the life easier for beginners, if we could write them down at one place with some explanation. I know there are so many of them, so i can't cover them all in first attempt. Please feel free to add anything else in the replies, or correct me if i am wrong somewhere. I will try to update this post time to time to make it correct and complete. For moderators: if you find better place for this topic, please move it there, but not into some hidden corner of the forum. Here we go: AB - arcade battles RB(HB) - realistic battles (some people say historical battles) SB(FRB) - simulator battles (some people say fully realistic battles) BR - battle rating a number assigned to a plane, indicating how the plane is performing in battles according to statistics, used for match making MM - match making the thing, which makes you angry everytime you want to play some fair match :D it's the system, which scans queue of waiting players and selects those, who will be fighting together in the next match by BRs of their planes FM - flight model flight properties of the plane and its behaviour in the air, what it does, when it turns, climbs, ... DM - damage model behaviour of the plane after it gets hit, what parts fall off, which mechanisms stop working, how it changes flying behaviour MA - mouse aim the first easiest control method used in AB and RB, where you simply point to a direction, where you want to fly, and instructor does all for you RoC - rate of climb how fast the plane gains altitude RoF - rate of fire how fast the guns fire IRL - no idea FOTM - no idea props - propeller powered aircrafts planes with the old propeller engine, those who aren't jets buffed - strenghtened plane got buffed in last patch = it is now better than before nerfed - weakened plane got nerfed in last patch = it is now worse than before Pacifica (Posted January 30, 2015) Moving Topic... dont worry will be somewhere of use to new comers, Thanks ! Pacifica (Posted January 30, 2015) There is another Topic on this Subject, so will merge this with that topic
r0lt0ns 2,444 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) Intereseting :D IRL - In Real Life maybe? Idk, just a guess Thanks, I also were confused when saw those strange words :Ds EDIT: AAh, got one - l2p - (too) low to play Means when player writes something bad about the gameplay (f.e. I got shot down by Swordfish, it's OP!!), but actually he/she is just to weak and can't play the game well Edited January 30, 2015 by r0lt0ns

Dege 606 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 FOTM means Flavour Of The Month - a plane/tank that everyone and their extended family plays because it is in someway broken/unbalanced and thus overperforming in one way or another, making it very popular. Youda008 2,791 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 isn't L2P rather "learn to play" ?
r0lt0ns 2,444 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 isn't L2P rather "learn to play" ? there are some places where the word "low" is used instead of nooob, so it's basically the same thing - you are too low-skilled to play the game.. But maybe you're right, I don't actually know, but perhaps both are right..
Eruantien697 1,098 Report post Posted January 30, 2015 Might want to add on "rtb" - returning to base, it's a hold over from before the preset messages were improved and expanded that people still sometimes use.
Einherjerne 195 Report post Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) Just what I was looking for +1 and thanks :salute: It might be the time for the "forum people" (MODs / DEVs) to have it all collected and make as a topic under Academy for New Recruits, and not as now scattered all over :Os it's FUBAR (F***** Up Beyond All Recognition) I could for sure have drawn benefit from knowing this at day one ;)s ... then again, scattering doesn't matter much according to this ( from: 2003)  Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. Lt_GetAwayFromMe 465 Report post Posted February 26, 2015 I'd like to add "GTFO". Said to killstealers, meaning: "get the flaming onion" where a flaming onion stands for a particularly fiery crash. So you're wishing the killstealer a violent death in a nice way.

Guest Report post Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) So, I'm playing Arcade (LV1). One of my team mates is pale green, and he seems to chat a lot. He was certainly the best player on our team. Is he special? I stayed on his flank except when he wanted me to threaten the enemy base late in the game; we won. After the battle, I scanned scores and found that only the top three players out of ten scored credits, the pale green guy, me and one other. The other team, only the top two earned any credits. These zero score players made kills so who are they -- bots? If they are bots, is there anyway to tell other than by behavior? You look pale green to him too, but not to anyone else. Bots have single names like Sergei or Anna.
