Are Ju88 dive brakes supposed to be so slow to extend/retract? (20 seconds!)

Tested them yesterday, on the tier I version. They take roughly 20 seconds to fully extend, and the same time to retract.

From what I could experience, this doesn't seem to be a graphic issue only, since apparently their effectiveness is related to their actual degree of extension.

Is this correct? I'm new to Ju88s, but such deployment time would already be considered slow in an airliner, let alone a dive bomber!

maybe it was a hand crank.... lol I cannot find info about it

Highly unlikely, as the dive brakes have been connected to automatic dive recovery (means that when you release bombs, the automatic kicks in and lifts the nose of the aircraft - but this only happened when the brakes have been deployed).

Exactly, and I find it hard to believe that a bombing dive maneuver is something that takes 20 secs to get in and, most importantly, 20 secs to get OUT of. This makes me think that the in-game deployment time of the airbrakes is incorrect, but I have no sources about that too.

Thanks! That appears to be about 5 secs.

Now, if only it wasn't so complicated to submit a FM bug report...

I would try to negotiate with a techmod first - maybe in this case they could refrain from "two sources needed". Not sure, but its worth a try - PM Smin1080p, from my experience he is quite cooperative.

If you go on with this bug, good luck  :Ds .

A video or mfg manual are compelling sources!

The part about the Ju-86 at beginning is all wrong!

no research, just assumptions.

The He-111E of the SCW was actually faster than Ju86 and Do17 thanks to more powerful engines, but the Ju86 was slowest, and easy target for Republic AF, so was quickly withdrawn.

The worst part is mistaking the Do-17 and Do-217, that is criminally bad.

:learn:

The Ju-88 stuff is better, more accurate, and the video is a gold mine.   :)s

I never said the "wings" series are accurate or flawless. I posted that just for one specific thing - that divebrake deployment.
