Defending against team-killers


So, lately I have been experiencing a lot team-mates, who were really determined to kill me.

 

Whether it was because they couldn’t shoot down an enemy aircraft and I could.

Or a frienldy bomber being followed by dozens of enemies, calling for my help, not getting it, then brought a fighter and zoom-climbing to 4 000m altitude trying to shoot me down.

Even for no particular reason, after we all spawned in, started the fresh new battle (not that often, maybe 1 in 100 matches). They just start shooting at me. Those are usually players I played against earlier (as their enemy), shooting them down on many ocassions, probably pissing the hell out of them. But that does not give them the right, to shoot me down, once we are team-mates. Or does it?

 

Needless to say, once I hear the bullets landing on my fuselage, I start to defend myself. I usually do hard-break, into the Split S and turn-fight with him/her, if possible till I am on his six. And if he/she continues turning, trying to get on my six for couple minutes, I am just forced to shoot him down. And I usually have only one plane in my line-up which is more than enough against enemies, but I just can’t afford to lose it to the friendly fire.

 

After they have been shot down, they usually take yet another aircraft, straight-line towards me and it continues. If I have a plane, that is either fast or a good climber I can run from them. But when I don’t I am forced turn-fight with them the rest of the battle. Because I don’t want to die and they are dedicated to kill for no particular reason, other than maybe being killed by me, when we stood as an enemies in earlier games.

 

I have been saving replays of these incidents as an evidence, but replays are being overwrited by newly saved replays. And I am left with no more than couple replays backing-up my claims. And now I have logged into the game, to just see that I have been complaint more than 10 times about: Abuse and Team-killing myself!

 

I haven’t ever tried to shoot down my team-mates without them trying it first. However I have to admit, once they try to shoot me down, I have no mercy with them afterwards.

So, I would really like to hear from you (most favorable from admin or moderators), what should I do about those? If I survive the initial burst and start turning with them, should I continue for 15 or so minutes, till the game ends? Or should I let them kill me, forcing me to leave the game without any enemy-kills, only with a death? This is really getting ridiculous, I don’t know how to cope with these situations, without being punished hereafter. Will I actually get banned for defending myself against team-killers? I would really appreciate any help, suggesting how to deal with team-killers/bleeders.

there is an automatic TK kick / ban system in place that will ban players (for a certain period) if they're TKing too much / often... and yes, this may also get YOU kicked / banned

eventually... so rule number one: dont fight back - no matter what! this is hard, i know, but the system cannot differ between people trying to actively kill a team member and

those trying to defend themselves.

 

tbh i dont see a 100% perfect solution to this whole problem... if it's always the same player trying to kill you he'll be gone 'soon', if it is several players of the same squadron

you may actually contact a GM providing the replays to him (because this could be considered to be 'harassment'), if it's completely different players of different squadrons or

solo players (without squadron) i'm afraid you'll have to endure it =/

 

ofc it's easy for me to say this because i usually play arcade battles at low tiers ^^ the repeair costs dont bother me and i can just hop into my next vehicle or leave the battle

and go right into the next one... however, i do understand that this situation is a whole lot different in realistic / simluator battles and especially on high tiers (applies to arcade

battles as well to a certain degree).  unfortunately due to WT being a free to play game many people are not afraid of getting their account suspended for a couple of days or

even banned completely (let alone being kicked from the current game session).

 

removing the ability to shoot down / damage friendly targets would be pretty much the only solution to prevent team killings and this would completely destroy the whole game.

 

my personal opinion(s):

- dont fight back (this will only get you into toubles) !!!

- save the replays (you can rename them so they wont get overwritten or you can even copy them out of the ..\replays\  folder into a seperate folder)

- dont take it to heart too much... there is nothing you can do about 'jack@sses' on the internet =/ either try to get away and try to make your team 

  win regardless of the 'bad people' (most honourable decision) or just leave the battle once you've been killed or damaged to the point where you

  cannot really do anything anymore (at least those players will get credited for the TK if you do it right and while you cannot help your team anymore

  you can at least make sure the TK count of those players is getting raised ;)

- get into squad or even a squadron. this will NOT stop Teamkillers but if you get into a squad with 3 others there is at least a chance that there will 

  be 'less' potential teamkillers in your team and they may also be afraid of the wrath of your squad/squadron mates ;) (cold war in WT ^^)

  (just tell them to not 'take vengeance' !!!)

Why don't they have that thing where you cant shoot team members like in ground forces. in GF there is no way you can hit a team member anymore. In the past they could and did, but now there is no way at all they can hit you. Oh their shells and bullets will bounce off you if they get lucky and able to land a shot while their on the move with the cannon barrel bouncing but it doesn't matter. They can have a zillion lucky shots that actually hits you but you receive no damage what so ever.

 

But they have found way's around that. Now they like to come up behind you and shove you in the river to drown your crew, ram you so hard it knocks out/kills your entire crew (a favorite tactic to kill SPAA units), or shove you out in front of the enemy team and let the red's kill you while they don't get into trouble or penalized for it, blame it on the red team so to speak.  But in plane that cant happen, no river to drown you in up in the clouds and in planes your always pretty much in the open anyway, also they would lose their unit from mid air collision if they tried to shove you around like they do in ground forces.

 

So then why don't they have that in air forces like they have in the ground forces? I don't know what it's called as far as a game function but its the one that has the blued out cross hairs if you point your gun/cannon at a team member, while it turns red if your pointing at a enemy.

Tank anti team kill won't work because you have a deflection shots at enemy planes. You don't have to aim at the plane directly.

maybe in arcade. in realistic and sim GFs it is possible to shoot and kill teammates. unfortunately at end of game its become the thing for idiots and trolls to do. it counts as a death in your stats and TKer gets away with no repercussions.
