Instructor Intervention?

I practice by taking various planes to test flight, both for target practice and aircraft handling practice.  I have noticed that when trying to do Immelmins and hammerhead stalls the instructor wants to fight me and return to the original heading.   I can complete the maneuver, however the plane, if left to its own devices will dive and turn or climb, stall and return to the original heading.  It is difficult to fight this and make the plane react smoothly.  I am using mouse aim and keyboard controls (q, w, e, a, s, d). Am I doing something wrong or is this normal?

this is normal... when you use a keyboard button to change the direction of the plane (like using elevators) it will override

the instructor but the second you release the button the instructor will try to get the nose of the plane back towards the

mouse pointer as fast as possible (and also level the wings so you're not flying upside down or such)

this is somewhat confusing at times (especially on the first battles when you're not used to it ^^) but you will have to get

used to it or switch the control method i guess - while it is possible to fly planes with simplified controls and still use mouse

and keyboard (mouse joystick) personally i found this way more difficult but maybe it works for you ;)

Thanks GS Hartman.  I see now.  My problem was after completing a Immelmin my mouse was still looking back. As long as I follow the nose of the plane with the mouse aim it stabilizes....mostly.  I think a lot of my lack of smoothness is my laptops limitations and lack of FPS (about 17).  At least now I can complete a maneuver without stalling and wallowing around like a wounded walrus.

Thanks!
