Olsun 4 Report post Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) I noticed this today on flight when I had the mixture setting on 80% I came up to like 4000-4500m high the engine was dying. My basic knowledge about mixture setting is the higher you are you will need more fuel to the engine. But the engine dies when im at 4000m altidue at 80% mixture. It doesnt get fuel and the prop gives no power anymore. I drop it under 80% around 60-70% the engine works normal. So just going over 80% kills it. Anyone expirenced this? Nvm just got my answer Edited March 28, 2016 by Olsun

Its actually the opposite, the higher you are, the less fuel you need. Basically, since at higher altitudes the air is thinner, you need to reduce the amount of fuel being injected to keep the fuel/air ratio the same. So in effect mixture should be reduced as altitude increases. Now for most planes in War Thunder, changing the mixture has barely any or no effect on performance of the engine. However, I believe I have heard that the J7W1 is one of the planes that is more picky about which mixture settings you use. I don't know what the correct settings are for it. You could always just use automatic engine controls if you can't figure it out.
