VK.3001 and VK.3601

  1. 1. Would you like to have the VK's in the research tree?

Hello everyone!

We all know the gap between the PzIII M (3.3) and Tiger H1 (5.7)
And even with numerous suggestions, we have not had a solution.

My suggestion is as follows ..
Fill this gap with two models

VK-3001 with Kwk40 L43 to 3.7~4.0 (Considering it  has the same armor 50mm and gun of PZIV F2 also in 3.7)

and VK-3601  with KwK40 L48 around 5.0~5.3 (hull 100mm turret 100mm)

You may say, "We already have a topic talking about the VK-3601".
But this topic:

It does not mention the most likely weapon to be used in this prototype. In case the KwK40.

I think it's a good idea, indeed. The VK-3001 would be played like a panzer IV i think. But the VK-3601... This would be nice counter of the KV-1, and train people to use the tiger correctly, since it's the same armor amount on the front. I hope those two will be added in the futur.

I like it.

Even if one manages to deal with the sudden jump in terms of BR, someone who just got his Tiger, will rarely have much good tanks to match it up with. The Pz.IV, StuG III, Hetzer, and to a lesser degree, the Dicker Max are not very competative.

Tanks as the Panzer IV/70 and Panther are quite a bit further down in their lines, and neither has the appeal that the tiger has to some

I support it! Although I almost mistook the vk36.01 as a typo of vk36.02 which was basically a baby panther.

The best solution to fill the gap between Pz III M and Tiger is the VK 3601 (H) armed with the KwK 40 at 5.0.

The best solution to solve the gap between in the Panzer IV's and the Panther line is either the VK 3002 M which is simply the Panther prototype with 60 mm of frontal armor at 5.0 or the VK 3002 DB

I support the VK 30...

...since I already suggested and support VK 36.

Also, you should allow the players to decide which gun they want to have.

I agree that players must choose the weapon to be used. But offering a cannon of 88mm which was never even planned for this prototype is not a good idea.

Only in WOT this tank use 88mm...

PS: I tried several times to warn about this on your topic, but without success.

My best regards

If you could chose between a 88 mm and a 75 mm, what would you chose ?

Useless to suggest it...

Not only the 88. There were many guns plannned for the VK 36. Like herp derp 10.5, squeeze 7.5/5.5 cm and Kwk 42 l/70.

Why I dont like the idea of having a Panzer 4 gun on it, is because then you will be better of playing that, instead of VK 36 as it has far better mobility and not much lower armor.

If we get it it should have the 75mm KwK 40, that's the only gun that was considered for mounting that actually existed to my knowledge. It's a very good gun anyway.

Did they even build that squeeze bore gun they considered or was it just a blueprint gun? It would be only able to fire one ammo type anyway, and from my knowledge squeezebore ammo is kinda similar to APCR so it would suck anyway.

I know the British Littlejohn adaptor which was a squeeze bore used a shell with a softer outer casing than usual so that it could be squeezed by the adaptor and essentially acted sort of like an APDS shell where a shell of smaller caliber than the barrel was what left from the business end of the gun, giving it a higher muzzle velocity.
