Hi all I know we're getting vr support but does anyone know how soon ?ive been away for a while and want to get back in the cockpit and turret again this would be a good reason to get flying again for me!its the only reason I've pre ordered the vr headset just wondering if anyone has seen when it will be implemented? Apologies if I've missed a previous thread/post

October 11th is its official release date.

From what I've seen at game conventions it's been working fine with WT. I was selected to test/review and keep one, if I like it I may invest in some tactile transducers to really up the emersion.

I wonder how they want to keep the game at stable 60 fps with the current version to make it run properly with Sony VR...

With the new PsPro probably. I don't have high hopes for us "standard" Ps4 users.

I can't wait to get myself a gaming pc and say goodbye to sony

sony wont allow it, it has to support both platforms.

I hope your right. I mean, I know what sony has stated so far and it is like you've said, still I don't fully trust sony anymore.

Anyway, the only thing that comes into my mind is a graphic downgrading to let standard Ps4 use the VR. I.e. with VR PsPro would look like high or very high setting while standard Ps4 would run on medium or low.

Unless the Ps4 has still enough power (I don't really know, but I seriously doubt it) that some nice work on optimization could make things look better and smoother.

The vr have it own processor unit for the grafics. So for that I dont think what PS4 you use matter.

And you have to buy the camera to.

wrong, that is not what the extra device does...

the extra device interpolates missing frames at very low latency thus you have 120hz output but the game still has to run at atleast stable 60 fps for it to work properly.

You know more than me.

movies is only 24 fps the brain fills in the gap. But you need 60 fps per eye to not get motion sicknes in vr.

lf sonys extra processor unit  make the brain think it is running smode the original feed dont need to be 60 fps.

I am going to buy one. I see for my self.

So, are there any news about PSVR and WT? It is coming next week, and would love to do some flying in War Thunder.

Does anyone know whether WT will support PSVR since launch?

No, it won't.

Since WT already supports Occulus Rift, this should be low hanging fruit to implement PSVR should it not?

I was hoping to buy one specifically to play WT Simulator Battle, and I think PSVR could be a huge boon to SB (injecting alot of players into the already the low SB playerbase).  It would also potentially make Gaijin a lot of money as it will attract new players to WT through the VR platform.

Is there an estimated ETA on War Thunder supporting PSVR?

Dont know anything about ETA of WT to the PSVR, but if you all remember, it didnt take to long time for the support for the Rift, so dont think this will take to much time eighter, also, they have had it at events already, so dont think it will take to long after release

as far as I know the game is already Sony VR capable but the functionality is probably just locked at the moment.

the only problem I see is how they want to achieve the 60fps? optimization has to be done or graphics downgrade. graphics downgrade would be bad though.

hi guys,

it seems that the PLAYSTATION VR will work good with the first generation of PS4,indeed,the french communication director of sony entertainement confirm it during an interview with a french interviewers ,normally no need of PS4PRO,just hope WARTHUNDER will support PSVR in the future.

for those who read french(if no google trad)here is the link of the  interview:http://www.dna.fr/loisirs/2016/09/09/ggg

I am waiting for a guinea pig to step up and provide some feedback

I plan on trying my hand at getting one Thursday morning. No guarantees that I'll be successful, of course, but if I am, I'll report back here. I'm rather anxious about the VR's performance on a launch-day console; hopefully it'll work fine and hopefully we won't have to wait too long for Gaijin to add support on the live client.
