Key planes not in Game

I would like to see how funny and messed up it would be if the Boulton Paul Defiant and the Fairey Battle were added. Two god-awful aircraft, sucked in combat. Just imagine how they would perform in War Thunder!

Defiant was fine in combat.......  as long as it was flown to its strengths - most of its losses came from the 2nd sqn on type - 141, who didn't adopt 264's tactics such as defensive circles.

 

Plus of course it was mis-used - it was a common concept in the 30's to have "bomber destroyers" ....  but obviously the concept was wrong and suffered when they tried to use it as an interceptor like the Hurri & Spit.

 

Nothing wrong with the Battle either - other than being obsolete - it is in the same class as the Stuka (yes the Battle could dive bomb!) B5N, Devastator, etc - mid 30's single-engined 3-crew bombers that were common in all countries and everyone considered them just dandy....  which they were when introduced.  the Su-2 was perhaps a little better for having 4 forward firing guns.....

 

the whole concept of "light bombers" was quickly replaced by fighter bombers world wide.

 

As it was the Battle performed a vital role in the BoB - many the Battle pilots converted to Hurricane and Spitfire since they were already trained to fly a Merlin powered, single engined monoplane with retractable undercarriage!

P-40 B/C (Tomahawk MKIA, IIA, IIB)

 

Im guessing it would be similar to the P-36C seeing as it has the same armament, but damn this plane is beautiful (I like the early P40's way more than the later style). Would love to see this in game, and have premium counterparts as well in the British/Soviet trees - as already mentioned.

I listed mine based on planes that saw a lot of service but are yet to be in game.  The 4 planes i listed saw almost the entire war but aren't represented in any way in this game.  If someone had 0 idea of the Japanese air forces they wouldn't know these planes existed despite the fact that they were on practically every from their respective service was at.

I'd like to see the Merlin engined P-40s added, or at least one of them.

 

B-26 Marauder, definitely, since the B-25 is so well represented (And no, I don't mean the A-26 Invader.  It wasn't a B-26 till the Martin Marauder was retired.)

 

He 177, perhaps?  Might have to have a random chance of catching on fire while at high power settings, though.

 

G3M Nell is not represented, either.

Must have the B-26 Marauder.  It's time the Flying Prostitute (or Martin Murderer, B Dash Crash, or Baltimore xxxx) finally got some love.

As opposed to the Swordfish, Po-2, and OS2U?  Actually, the OS2U was an excellent plane for its real job, catapult-launched scout/artillery spotter/combat search & rescue floatplane.  It's just that the game has no role for such an aircraft.

I'm just gonna say that the Defiant had a variant that did in fact include offensive armament of 6 forward facing machineguns, so depending on the model used it could be a very powerful aircraft.
