Linking steam and gaijin.net account

Hi i wanted to see if I could connect a war thunder account made through steam to a gaijin.net account so I can use that to login to the game instead of steam and keep my progress (since steam client doesnt work well for me)

technically yes (cant say for sure since i haven't tried it ^^)

 

you should be able to get your login credentials like this -> https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us/articles/208179375-General-information-on-your-account-registered-via-Steam

(though you may have gotten them already since you logged into this forum (unless you use a different account on the forums))

 

and while it only states that those credentials can be used to login to the website and forums i dont really see a reason why they

couldn't be used to log into the game either. if this doesn't work you may ofc try to link your War Thunder Steam account to an

email and use the details that are getting send by Gaijin (https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us/articles/209617049-Binding-a-Steam-account-to-your-e-mail-address- )

( !!!  NOTE: email addresses which were already used for Gaijin accounts cannot be linked to Steam accounts. !!! )

 

so if you've used your email address already to create an account (for instance to join the forums etc) you will have to use

a different one - make sure it's valid, you got access to it and you wont have to change it anytime soon (or ever rather ^^))

 

btw. you wont have to install a separate 'standalone' client... you can always start the game (without Steam) by running the

launcher.exe in the War Thunder game folder (even if it's in the Steam game folder). maybe for the convenience you should

create a desktop shortcut to the launcher.exe (right-click on the launcher.exe -> select 'send to -> desktop')

Lol - ok get ready for my rabbit hole.

I went from PS4 to pc account and got the game from this website not steam. I have a two steam account with one being the same as my PS4 and Gaijin account and another different one I use for having an issue with steam. Can I use same PS4/Gaijin email for my steam with same or no?

 

p.s. - I forgot to mention I am transferring my warthunder to ://steam/common/steamapps and make it War Thunder.
