The surviving Ferdinands fought various rear-guard actions in 1943 until they were recalled to be modified and overhauled, partially based on battle experience gained in the Battle of Kursk. Returned to the Nibelungenwerke factory in Austria, on 2 January 1944, upgrades commenced on 48 of the 50 surviving vehicles. The most visible exterior upgrades were 1) the addition of a ball-mounted MG 34 in the hull front, 2) a new commander's cupola (modified from the standard StuG III cupola) for improved vision, 3) re-designed armored engine grates (for better bullet and shrapnel protection) and 4) the application of Zimmerit anti-magnetic mine paste.

With the upcoming "Raining Fire" update and it's round up forum, there is a source of some possible German vehicle (a screenshot of some CDK files), however in the files there are also present files for "Ferdinand" as well as "Elefant". I guess this might mean that Elefant is being worked on and we can just hope it does not get scrapped, or that it just isn't some leftover file (or it was scrapped already). Yes, Elefant and Ferdinand are very similar but I think they both should be in the game.

Of course both should be in the game. They get numerous, countless, indistinguishable t-34 on their side in this game but we can't get our stuff??

Idk if u know guys but there is Panzerjäger Tiger (P) Elefant in unused files. 

I have no idea if its working and how long its here but i think its from GF CBT.
