the current leos do not have a proper tier VI tank killer shell. The mobility is still good, but its the firepower thats now lacking. so this addition is a must

I'd rather not see that to be honest, the EMES 18 wouldn't really have any impact in War Thunder and the laser rangefinders aren't modelled any differently compared to coincedemce rangefinders as far as I'm aware.

 

Besides, it would have to receive DM23 as a result of this upgrade, which means that the battle rating would likely be increased to 8.7, which in turn means people will be stuck playing an utterly garbage stock Leopard 1A1A1 at 8.7 all the way untill they've gotten the necessary modules unlocked to make it perform somewhat okay-ish.

 

I'd rather just see the Leopard 1 A1A1 be moved down to 8.0 (possibly 7.7 considering the STB-1 is 7.7) and have the Leopard 1A4 with DM23 introduced at 8.3.

nice suggestion, however the leopard 1 chassis as a whole, has too many drawbacks to be competitive at these tiers.

too weak engines, gearboxes that would just nullify any HP the engine has to give (if modelled like the gearboxes are modelled now).

still no regenerative steering.

even the smallest of bumps / rocks will cause the tank chassis to stike the ground, losing all momentum it had gained.

kinda like the A1A1 that's crashing around the maps now.

It wouldnt be the first tank that has to do that,M60A1 RISE,Type-74 or T-55A are like this-either has to unlock their APFSDS before it actually becomes competetive at that tier (Albeit that the T-55A gets its APFSDS at rank 2).Also,Laser rangefinders are modelled differently to Coinicidence ones in game,they give you pretty much instant ranging instead of having to wait.
