i would like to propose an interresting Italian Attacker. the CANSA FC.20

 

The CANSA Fc.20 was a twin engine cantilever low wing monoplane witch serial variation but only one reached the squadron services in very small number, a very few was ever built before the armistices. The twin engines were mounted forward of the leading edge with the propeller shaft in the wing plane. The FC.20 had a twin tail, with elliptically shaped endplate vertical surfaces almost equally divided vertically between fin and rubber

 

The FC.20 was meant to be a reconnaisance bomber but was produced to be a ground attacker. the first prototype flew in 1941 four variation was similare apport of few difference in the front fuselage and the engine. the FC.20 was originally unarmed and only carry bombs. but the later variation had offensive and defensive armament.

Fc.20

it was un unarmed plane witht the Fiat A.74 R.C 38 engine, this varriation had a long nose and carry 2x 160kg bombs and 126x 2kg bomblets

 

Fc.20Bis

it was the variation that saw action in very little number in some squadron. the nose was shorted and a 37mm breda with 2x 12.7mm Breda-SEFAT MG at the root of the wing. a dosal turret was installed with a 12.7mm Breda-SEFAT MG. it also carry the bombload of the Fc.20

 

Fc.20Ter

it was a modified Fc.20 with a 37mm Breda long barrel on the nose. a rear gunner was in the cockpit with a 12.7mm Breda-SEFAT MG. the egine was upgraded to Fiat A.80 R.C. 41. it carry the same bombload of the Fc.20

 

Fc.20Quater

it was one of the few Fc.20bis redesigned with two Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine It was fitted with a 37 mm (1.46 in) Mauser Ikaria cannon and a pair of 20 mm (0.79 in) cannon replaced the wing root machine guns of the FC.20bis. Tested in 1943, it flew higher and 80 km/h (50 mph) faster than the Fc.20bis. it carry the same bombload of the Fc.20

• Guns: 1 × nose mounted 37 mm (1.46 in) Breda cannon; 2 × 12.7 mm (0.5 in) machine guns in wing roots; 1 × 12.7 mm (0.5 in) machine gun in dorsal turret.
• Bombs: 2 × 160 kg (352 lb) bombs externally outboard of engines; 126 × 2 kg (4.4 lb) anti-personnel bombs internally.
