I would like to suggest a new Jet Fighter for the Italian. The Aerfer Saggitario 2

 

The Aerfer Sagittario 2 was a full metal single sitted lightweight jet fighter of 1956. the aircraft was meant to be a interceptor and a tactical support aircraft. it was the first italian aircraft to break the sound barrier in a dive.

 

The small all metal aircraft have the Rolls-Royce Derwent 9 centrifugal-flow turbojet, 16.2 kN (3,600 lbf) engine in the nose and the exhaust underneath the mid-fuselage. the aircraft had 2x Hispano-Suiza 30 mm (1.181 in) cannon with 200 rpg in the nose and two hardpoint in the wing (one in each) that could carry up to 318kg. amounst of the carrying layout there was additional machine guns or canon or 318kg napalm missile or 227kg bomb or 12 x 3" Aerial Rockets. 

the plane never reach production and the decelopment continue to the Ariete. only 2 prototype of the Sagittario 2 was ever built

 i have the hope to see the Aerfer's plane in a new line filled with Reggiane's plane. Reggiane and Aerfer share many spec, such as light fighter, innovative plane, the possibility to carry a good load of additional weapon and they are both from a company that had something to prove.

 

If the Sagitterio II is underwork. i hope the the Reggianes will come out before them.

it's a bit slow to be 8.3. the G91 is way faster and most of the other plane in that rank are faster and better armed. this one should go at 7.3/7.7. it's a early jet after all. his successor (the Aerfer Ariete) would get to 8.0 as top plane of his line. or at least this is what i expect.

1,050 kph and 40 m/s climb rate is definitely not slow for 8.3

yeah, the first data was change a while ago, before it was at 850km/h. i got the mixed up with another plane i think. it was updated now.
