steam "verify files" is greyed out

the title states it all

every time i have a connection issue i verify game files and it almost everytime finds some corrupted files and that fixes the problems but now this option is greyed out
also the game size is not stated correctly

-snip-

You can try to repair the game via the War Thunder launcher, it's the little Wrench symbol in the top right corner of the launcher!

Edit: Since when do you have the folder set to read-only ?
I would assume Steam needs to be able to write on files in the folder if it should fix a corrupted one.

Also if you get this error: Error 80130182: The authorization server is unavailable.
Then you're not alone xD!

It is per default from Steam.

Restart Steam may help or did it not?

the game starts normally and the ingame file check "the wrench in the upper right" finds nothing
but when i try to start a new match i just get tons of "server disconnected you will be returned to menu"
now i know for a fact that even if the ingame file check found no corrupted files, the steam integrity check always finds corrupted files that the ingame check couldn't and then i can play normally again.

now the steam file check is greyed out and i cant even play one match even though the built in checker says everything is fine

No.

Just reinstall the launcher. That means perform it and choose the already existing War Thunder directory in Steam.

And i said that would be this what i would do if i had this problem. That is not my solution, just worth a try.
