[0058664] Missing modification research points

Sometimes, when you leave the game before the round ends, you only can get as much modification points as there is left to research the nearest modification. The rest doesn't go to the next modification, it's just not there. Even after restarting the game and finishing another round.

 

My example:

 

I had 2168 RP points left to research my bombs for Tempest.

I played an air battle and left in the middle of it (after all, most people don't get to see the end of an air battle).

I waited patiently for the round to end, as I knew about this bug before and didn't want to lose even more RPs.

When it did, I got 7497 vehicle points.

So I should get like 5000-6000 RP for modifications. Instead I got only 2168, so my bombs got researched and not a single RP went to the next modification.

 

I uploaded the screenshots, the replay and two logs - one from the session when the problem occured and the other one from the next session when I still didn't get my RPs.

After several attempts i'm not able to reproduce your issue.

Please do following:

1. navigate to E:\Steam\steamapps\common\War Thunder
2. delete the cache folder
3. check files
4. retest it

If it is still present, please provide new clog file and screenshots.

Note that after 48 hours without response, the report will be closed and you will need to resubmit the issue in a new bug report.

I can confirm this on several occasions, it was many times discussed on this forum as well. Your best course to reproduce it is to leave the game early as w4ryat described (being killed by enemy) and immediately after that (in a moment, current game is still running) enter another battle. It will very, very often (if not always) happen. You receive RP only from the first battle you left early and only up to research 1 module, the rest - more then is need to research the module or RP from the next battle is gone. Even if you needed only 6 RP to finish the research and earned 2300 RP, you'll get the 6 RP and that's it.

 

And the it does not end here. If this happens, you'll generally stop receiving RP for this particular tank. You literally need to relog the game to start gaining RP for it again. By reloading though you never receive the missing RP back. Never. Reloading only makes the system to reset for you to start gaining RP again. The only way to get the missing RP back is, when you finish battle and see this happening - DO NOT ENTER ANOTHER BATTLE, relog immediately and in this one and only case, your missing RP will come back. Again the condition is - never enter another battle after this happens, otherwise your RP is gone forever.

 

Many times people discussed it here, nothing ever happened to it. Reloging helps, you just need to spot it immediately and immediately relog - if not, RP gone forever.

Deleted the cache folder and checked files.

 

Took me a while, but I managed to recreate not only this problem, but also another one regarding the VEHICLE research points: when I researched Pe-8, ZERO research points from the last battle went to the next vehicle (only 3500 went to Yak from the previous one).

 

You can also note the raport from the last battle says I researched some fuselage, even though it was researched before the radiator.

The easiest way I found so far to recreate this problem is to take a plane and spam battles with it. Die in less than 10 minutes and fly the next battle. If you have a few battles in progress ('You left the battle before it ended'), theres a high chance something like this happens, but it's not a must, one battle in progress is enough. 

 

And perhaps there has to be an active booster on?

Another example from today:

 

Screenshot 1 - finished battle, finished research of Filters and ... see no more RP, it's set to 0.

Screenshot 2 - I reloaded - suddenly the missing RP there ... 338, I can research suspension.

 

If I didn't check this each and every time and If I didn't reload to get the missing RPs and continued in game play, I'd lose them and I would not receive any RP in next battles for modules for this vehicle. Later reload would not help to bring them back, it would only reset my ability to get RPs in next battles. So confirmed from today.
