Hi @Vladimir118932 ,

Try to play objectives to win a lot of Silver Lions. :)

In plane you can destroy AI Ground Forces Units and in tank try to cap Capture Points and defend them.

This is a easy way to win SL.

Untick automatic repairs.

Auto repair off.gif

Let the vehicles spend some time repairing in the hanger.  While they repair( the SL total to repair counts down) play another nation.

Also in this way you can select  individual vehicles and repair them  only to  play again with a reduced lineup if you want to reduce your SL costs between matches.  This will really save some SL in the higher tiers.

This strategy works well if you are playing all the nations.  You let one nation tick some SL repair cost off while you play a match with another nation.  It adds up.

I concur with Sarin, rushing to upper tiers is an error for a beginner whereas playing at lower tiers (as much fun as the higher ones, BTW) it's possible to constantly earn more SL, on average, than those spent on repairs (even keeping automatic repair turned on). It just needs a minimum of skill, even having under-average performances.
At Tiers from III-IV things start to change, but if you gained experience at Tier I-II you should be able to manage the situation properly.

However you did't give us details about your gaming (we can just read "397 battles fought"): Arcade Battles? Planes or tanks? Which nation(s) are you using?
Do you know how MM works ( https://wiki.warthunder.com/index.php?title=Matchmaker )?  Are you careful in choosing vehicles so to avoid being overtiered?

Low tiers are more fun than high tiers.  Load bombers bomb tanks and pillboxes and guns . get silver lions.

If you want an excuse to farm SL at low tiers. Unlock skins for your planes :)

And for tanks too - I got the skins for 250 US P40 kills and 100 IS-16 Type 5 kills ;)

If you have fought less than 400 battle in three years and already are using a 5.3 BR tank as IS-1, im my opinion you are battling way too high for your possible skill level. Usually experienced players tend to stay at upper tiers so you are likely fighting agains gamers much more skilled than you.
If, in addition, you would make a mistake in MM things would go even worse.

MM in GF is easy to understand (whereas in AF is more complicated, being averaged on three planes, see the link I gave): in AB Ground Forces is ruled by "matchmaking by top vehicle BR" i.e. by the highest tank's BR you have.

For example, in a three tanks set as KV-1 L-11 (BR 3.7), KV-2 1940 (BR 4.3) and IS-1 (BR 5.3) your reference BR would be 5.3 (due to the single IS-1 value) and you could face opponents -1/+1 BR respect to it, i.e. enemy tanks from BR 4.3 to 6.3.

This would mean that it's likely to be usually overtiered with KV-1 and KV-2, two tanks over three. Since in GF duels are largely decided by BR (power of guns, strength of armours), the overtiered player is almost cannon fodder, often even if he has enough skill to hit first his enemy.
Confronting with a tank +1 BR higher is hard but with one +2.6, e.g. BR 3.7 vs BR 6.3, is an almost impossible mission, especially for a beginner.

So my advice is: stay for now at lower tiers, Tiger can wait. ;)
And check your tank's BR to be sure they have similar BR (e.g. 2.0 - 2.3 - 2.3) so to avoid being overtiered.
To make it clear: forget Tier in itself, pay attention to BR. There could be Tier II tanks with BR higher than some Tier III tanks: it's BR that counts.

At the same time, increase crews XP level (at low tiers Vitality is important, as much as other parameters).

I'd choose to play with all nations too, to have a broad-based experience, but it's your choice.

WT GF Arcade is not at easy game, it's very dependent from tanks, crews and BR (more than AF), it's not really "fair" IMHO and there is a lot of things that have to be considered.
In fact I have a lot of criticism about it and think it could be made much better (as much good as AF), although I consider it still amusing enough to be worthwhile playing.

Here all my personal opinions and advices (and rants):

Yes as CloCLoZ noted,

Tiers do not mean anything like they once did.

The Battle Rating (BR) of your tank determines for the most part how you are set in a match.  The BR for your game is determined by your highest BR in your line up and then you can face opponents that are

+/- up to 1.0 BR from yours.  so...

You can therefore have a Tier II  3.0BR possibly facing a Tier III 4.0 BR.  What confuses a majority of the new players is the highest BR vehicle in your line up is what determines your match making number.

So as an example:  if you have a  line up of 2.0, 2.0,2.0, 2.7, and a 3.0 the mm determines you to be 3.0 for the game.  You would then face anything from 2.0 to 4.0BR for the match.  So it is vital to keep your line up of BRs narrow or you will face stuff you will have a hard time against.

You can play some 1-2 tier tanks/planes from other factions, arcade battles preferably, do objectives. This worked for me always, you can learn something more about tanks and planes in other factions + it's fun.

Yes, playing the other nations is a great way to learn how to defeat them

Apart from what everyone else mentioned all I can say is get a membership it's super cheap and you'll make way more lions a game. In my opinion membership is a nesecity.

Practice makes perfect, perhaps watch some guides on YouTube to help you practice. Cheers! :good:

Vladimir,

My best advice is to focus on obtaining a bomber or attack plane which can carry a few bombs, and with this you can then focus on destroying targets. I think this is less stressful while you develop your skills. The main thing is to realize that your going to have build up your crews and that just takes time. Until then you're pretty easy to destroy especially for experienced and skilled pilots.

This can be frustrating because you've got to start off with fighters and with crews that are totally inexperienced. In my opinion, the place to put your crew points are first into sight and awareness skills, then into reloading, and then into gun crew skills, providing that you go the bomber route.
