This is a discussion of what vehicles fellow players like/do not like to play in the game.

 

Not only is it entertaining, but it can be a very effective and useful research tool for a newerish player when trying to decide what to try to unlock.

 

But be aware that as time goes by, vehicles can change in how they perform or operate after updates.  Ultimately the final verdict always rests with each individual player and their play styles.

My favourite vehicle to play: AEC II.

 

A powerful gun that I take up to 7.0 matches (I have it in every lineup). Fast traverse.

 

A decent speed and manouverable.

 

Can scout, so helps the team and helps spawn a plane if needed.

 

Only bad bits are the odd inability to move on snow and mud (gets hit by these a bit too harshly), and that it's the ONLY light vehicle until 8.0 and the AEC is soooo expensive now (nice tactic Gaijin!).

 For planes, my most hated are the bomber/attackers. If it doesn't have forward facing guns it's useless, and even though playing them wins matches I'm missing out on the thrill of gun kills. The B-10B is probably my least hated, for the powerful armament at 1.7.

 

 My highest BR is 2.3; the plane I most like is the P-40E and probably the P-40F later. The six .50 cals in a 2.0 lineup melt everything that gets in my path, even Spits at 2.7. Don't even talk about Bf-109 crates.

 

 My most hated plane to play against is the I-15, followed shortly by the I-16 and MiG-3.They're quick enough to keep me in guns range after a pass and have the firepower to nail me from any angle. Decently fast, too.

If you like planes with a lot of dakka I'd suggest to go for the A-36.  It's technically an "attacker" but it's an early Mustang airframe with the option to carry up to 10 .50 caliber machine guns.

Thank you! It's 2.7 but it's in the bomber lineup, I think. RPing planes I'll never play... wonderful. I'm now 2.7 with four 2.7 planes - Corsair, F4 and F3, and the P-400, which is not, in fact, just a P-40 with a Zero on its tail (as I'd thought) but now a P-40 with a cannon and a completely different airframe. It's pretty good and I enjoy it, though the stock version turns like a semi with distressed steering, with an engine perfectly calibrated - it stalls out at any altitude.

I find russian planes easy to deal with at 2.7. While they're maneuverable, I'm a British Main. What maneuvers must eventually slow down... eventually. and the Spitfire has good energy retention for its class. However, the I-180S is my bogeyman. and I fear it like nothing else in this world.

What is it about the I-180S that you hate? It seems a fairly bog-standard 3.0 fighter; nothing special about it.

At the moment my favorite vehicles to play are the 76mm Shermans, both the M4A1 (76) W and the Lend-Lease M4A2. That cannon is just so comfortable to use, and am quite happy that I still have more of them to grind in the US tree. Even got a nice 11 kill match with the Soviet one.

 

Wouldn't really say "hated", but I have not enjoyed the IS-1 and KV-85 so far. Neither are fully researched yet to be fair, but still, I've been getting one-shotted early in these way too often and haven't really figured out the best way to play them. The T-34-85 has been a lot more comfortable experience.

 

Overall favorite vehicle so far might be either the Panther A, or the captured T-34-747(r).

I would have to add the Archer to my most hated vehicles to have ever played in any game by far. Even the view at spawn of the match is freaking backwards.

 

My most loved vehicle though, that's a tough one. The American premium BF109  is great, fun and easy to fly and very forgiving if I fly too carelessly, and I make a lot of SL with it. With tanks I've fallen in love with the T54, mobile and can take a hit and just seems to keep on giving. I just seem to have a lot of luck with it and will definitely be getting the other two T54s.

Most hated

He-100D, everytime I have flown it, I had to wash off all the blood of the poor seals I clubbed. I relentlesly hunt it when I face it. It doesn't belong at 1.7, and feels like bringing an gun to a knifefight. 2.3 should be the minimum BR.

 

F6F-5, A plane I would like to love, but i cannot get it to work, it really doesn't like to fight an uphill battle against all those 205's and 109's.

 

P51D30, that plane was simply made for me, such a joy to shred all those hapless 109's, and an absolute moneymaker too. Until the moment Gaijin showed its slimey face and absolutely devastated it, it nerfed the daylight out of it, by just killing the rudder... Above 550 km/h it doesn't do **** anymore and I used to fly it exclusively at these speeds. Never touched it since, with pain in my heart.

 

Bf-109 E1 and F1, both absolutely fantastic planes that are way undertiered. E1 to 2.7 and F1 to 3.0. I hate to face them and it feels dirty to fly them.

 

Favorites

F4F-3 Wildcat, an underpowered tub with wings and murderous firepower. A plane completely underestimated by many, but a joy to fly, great handling at any speed, a stellar diver and with some speed an amazing turner. Love to do the event against the Zeroes in it.

 

C.202 by far the best airframe in its BR range, if you get used to the guns it turns into a monster, should be 2.7 I feel, but oh well..

 

Bf-109 G6, some say it's the first 109 past it's prime. In War Thunder it's just about right, it handles nicely, looks fantastic and 3x30mm mk108 anyone?

 

P51/Mustang Mk1: Stay fast, keep it below 3km and shred. It just doesn't perform in the classic interceptor role, so don't use it that way, bait the 109's low, outenergy them there, or just turn at 600 km/h towards the deck and watch them pancake. No matter what people say about the Hispano's, 4 of them hitting in convergence range is guaranteed seperation of wings and airframe on the enemies part.

 

Honorable mention

I'm not very potent in them but the Lightnings and Mosquito are an old fav of mine, too bad I just can't get them to work properly in WT.

Archer

The archer td is practically the most useless vehicle in the entire game due to it being a a high br and the only good thing about it being the 17pdr gun, It doesnt have good mobility, Speed, armour or pen. Its pen is average for the br.

The Is1 and Kv85 are best played as counter's to the tiger one that is now at the same Br, Use the KV85 as a more passive sniping tank with the 85 being perfect for the Job and the Is1 as a fast and manuverable brawling heavy tank.

Ive been playing this game for the last  7 years . At least 5 last years flying planes mostly in rb and then  landed... to tanks rb)))

 Ill share my favourite vehicles with you.  Considering tanks battle rb they are: T-34-57, T-34-85, SU-85, KV-1(especially in German nation), Breda 501, M-18 GMC, T-20, Jagdpanzer iv, Panzer iv-70(v) etc.

Loved:

Plane: Yak-2, you can keep pace with most monoplanes if not outright outrun them, and even turn with some biplanes at the tier, its armament is really potent and easy to aim, not to mention its cannons don't run out really fast like the other aircraft at the tier (150 shots per gun). Being a ground RB main I enjoy taking it out not so much as CAS but as a heavy fighter that can work wonders against bombers and CAS planes. 

 

Taking the A-36 into air realistic is also fun.

 

Tank: ZiS-30. Ya gotta love Soviet engineers just slapping the artillery piece onto the tractor meant to pull it, apart from the aesthetics it performs ridiculously well. Aiming once the hull stops rocking is really easy, and just slapping German tanks from across the map never gets old, really. Works really well in uptiers, and I often use it as a backup whenever I research a tank in an entirely new BR. At 2.7 with the T-50 the penguins love me (cause I clubbed the seals that were trying to eat them, bad joke I know), even as a middling player I can average 9 kills per game with that lineup (Yak-2, ZiS-30, T-50, SU-76M, 72-K GAZ-MM). I'd say the Flakbus is a close second for me.

 

Hated (more of a love-hate relationship):

Plane: MiG-3-15 (BK), I love the climb rate and armament, but sometimes you want your plane to be able to turn.

 

Tank: M18. I usually die 6 times without a kill before having a decent game, it's one extreme or the other. Not to mention the gun doesn't really function at the tier that it's at, frontally anyways.

Favorites:

F4U-1A (2.7)/F4U-1A (USMC) (3.3)- A double-edged sword. Waste your energy and get caught low and slow and you'll never recover that advantage ever again, but keep it and you'll effortlessly sail from engagement to engagement clubbing seals so hard you'll make PETA write inflammatory pieces about you.

 

Phantom FG.1/F-4K (10.3)- I used to fly this in SF2 with 892 NAS! Now that I have the same plane that I used to fly in SF2, I can pretend I'm playing SF2 again! Woohoo!

 

Bf-109G-2/trop (4.3)- because it's almost brainless to fly. 

 

F4U-4 (5.0)- it's a corsair with no cannons, good high altitude performance and late-model M2s. The API-T is simply the cherry on top.

 

AU-1 (5.7)- because sometimes, "Fighter-Bomber" just isn't "Bomber" enough. Let's just make a Bomber-Fighter instead.

 

Spitfire F Mk IX (4.3)- because it's one helluva plane.

 

Brigand B1 (4.3)- The Ugly Duckling of British Tier IV

 

Sea Fury FB Mk 11 (5.3)- one mean sucker if you play her right.

 

Most hated: 

 

Bf-109G-10 (5.3)- never talk to me or my nonexistent son ever again.

 

G.56 (5.7)- they say that money money money is the kind that flows. The G.56 personifies this by showing you the money flowing out of your SL balance. It will not, unfortunately, let you rake it in, bale it up like hay, then have a rocking good time and throw it all away.

 

P-26es (1.0)- why.

 

P-39s (3.0/3.3)- I hate the 37 mil because it's inaccurate, that will be all, thankyou for coming to my TED talk.

Most loved: Top Tier MBTs because it's the only kind of ground vehicle i like and enjoy playing.

Most hated: Top Tier MBTs because Gaijin has made sure of making them mostly unplayable unless you have a KDR above 3:1 AND Premium account by giving them unaffordable repair costs, so it ends up being more of a frustrating, obnoxious and tedious experience rather than fun or enjoyable.

I love the entirety of the JGSDF vehicles at 8.7+ Japan. They're hard to do well with, but I'm hugely enamoured with their nation and vehicles. The Type-16 is probably my favourite aesthetically, even though I can never do well with it. I've somehow got a 2k/d with the Type-74G, which is easily my favourite premium in the game.

I hate facing the Strv-122, as the armour performance alongside the excellent gun means that regardless of which vehicle I play at top tier, it's always a struggle to kill it in a frontal 60 degree arc.

I bought the Merkava 2D I think for the Israeli deck.  As much as people complain about, I have had my best games with it.  I dont care if its not as fast as other tanks, no one just hauls butt across the map anyway and I LOVE the Survivability of this tank. I generally suck, so taking a few shots before I die is nice that I can get a shot off!

I just hate the Leopard too. Its kinda broken for the br and i hate the Pen and after-effect it does to your tank.And the m48 too...I hate the tank.I mean its good but only when you are playing it.

My favorite tank.....The IS-2. Good armor, excellent gun but a long reload time. I mean its balanced for the gun but the recent br change changed everything but i mean you can still do good with an under-tier

I started playing last year as a non-gamer and am to lvl 75.  Only play Air AB (RB is boring to me).  Started with US, then France, and now Germany.  

 

US Favorites:

F-82E: nice SL grinder due to (2) 2k lb bombs and speed...run at a pack of vehicles at start of match and get 7-11 kills.  Tough to maneuver after the bomb drop though.

F4U-4B + F4U-4C: great all around planes, fly nice, big accurate guns

F8F-1B: one of my favorite planes in the game. fast and when loaded with cannons it shreds everything in the sky.  fun to head on jets.  wins assault air arcade easy

A-26B-50: climb and take out a bomber on the way to the target, enemy won't expect your massive center located guns, good ai rear gunners

F-84B-26: at 6.7 you are often the only jet on the field and with 2k in bombs you can be deadly in a match.  obviously this makes you a big target but you can often outrun everything.  worth a talisman for a SL grinder.  if you wait until half way through the match once the better planes are gone then you can destroy

B-57B: with 8k in bombs and massive speed you are a base killer.  (IF) you can get high and survive the climb then you will be mostly out of reach while dropping from 7-9k ft.  If someone starts getting close you just drop at them with your huge center guns.  don't bother dog fighting, this is a high altitude bomber (with combat flaps!)

F-105D: One of the fastest planes in the game and fun as sh*t to fly.  Massive payload for base killing.  The sound of the guns....hnnnnggg.  You can drop bombs from space in this thing.  BUT...I hate playing jets and it mostly just sits in my hangar now.

 

US Hated:

B-29: I wanted to love this plane but it's so hard to fly, and everyone wants to kill you

F-80A-5: Don't bother, it's like flying a 2x4 with guns that don't kill anything.

B-57A: The 0.3 br difference from the B-57B isn't worth it.  The plane is slower, no guns, smaller payload.

 

France Favorites:

Potez 631: Powerful guns destroy in low br but be ready to run away and reload.  AI rear gunner is deadly accurate and you will rack up kill assists.

N.C.223.3: This thing is FUN.  Impossible to fly but carries 52 bombs with nice rear ai gunners.  At low br it takes an army to bring you down...you can be completely on fire and still killing bases/vehicles and taking down anything that comes too close to your rear.

P-63C-5: Powerful guns and flies like butter.  One of the smoothest planes in the game, enjoyable to fly.

 

Germany Favorites:

***IMO Germany 3.7-5.0 is the most fun to play .  The assortment of interesting planes keeps the game fun.  FW's are great fighters, the 110's are bomber hunters from hell, and the TA 154 is IMO the best premium SL grinder.  If you like interesting planes, the Ju 88, Do 217's, and Me 264 are worth checking out.

 

TA 154 A-1: Hands down my favorite all-around plane in the game for SL.  Massive guns, fast, strong airframe, controllable at speed.  Easy enough to maneuver for capping air fields with huge SL premium, or even for short dogfights (combat flaps).  Bombers have no chance.  k/d ratio 2.5.

FW 190 A-4: At 4.86kg/s burst this thing is deadly and fast.  Powerful enough to chase down high bombers. Not the greatest retention but anything that passes in front of you is dead. 2.6 k/d

FW 190 A-5/U2: Slightly faster and more maneuverable than the A-4, I use this for capping air fields. At 4.7 you are one of the fastest planes in the sky.  Guns aren't as powerful, and less accurate.  I find many times I'm unloading and not even getting a hit which is frustrating.  k/d 1.6

BF 110 G-4: I love this plane.  11.05 kg/s burst centrally located...oof.  Decent climber, bomber hunter.  Head on destroyer.  Radar for clouds.  Top loaded Schrage Musik is barely useful, but so fun to try. 

 

Germany Hated:

DO 335 A-0: Flies like a brick in the sky, yuck.

All BF-109's:  Compared to the power of FW's I'm just not a fan.  Guns are too weak until you get to 6.3.
