i would like to suggest a plane that usually i would suggestion for Premium but this one is also very fit for the regular tree in tier IV. the French FW190, the NC.900

d378d35db2de.jpg

to be clear, this is not 100% German built plane, the Nc.900 was captured unfinished. the engine was sabotage and was to be rebuilt before to plane was working. the french rebuilt the engine and finished the plane on their own in 1944. while the difference between the original Fw190 is very minimal, the Nc.900 is a plane on his own and one of the first post war french plane.

In 1944, France was liberated and while unequipped and their industry was nearly all ruined, the will of France to join the battle along side their allied was undeniable. France was quickly reorganizing themselves with the new technology and design on their own using a lot of captured vehicles and allied help to built their own army. to built their air-force, the french was counting a lot on the allied power, which was costly for them. France was in ruin and couldn't afford to go on dept forever. the solution came out from a underground German aircraft factory near Cravant who, since it was underground, was saved from the allied raid. this factory was building Fw 190 A-5/A-8 with many plane still there left unfinished with most of their important part sabotaged. no working engine was to be found and all the engine in the factory was in sorry condition. the ownership of the Fw.190 factory was given to Société nationale des constructions aéronautiques du Centre ( SNCAC ) with all the material found inside. the factory was renamed Atelier Aéronautique de Cravant (AACR) and started to work for finishing the Fw.190 that could be found in the factory. the decision was economical since building the unfinished Fw.190 was almost 10 times cheaper than buying a British spitfire (1.500.000 against 12,000,000). repairing and finishing the frame and most of the part of the plane didn't shown to be very difficult and was done really fast. the engine however was a lot more complex. the BMW 801 D2 engine was purposely broken to leave no working part to the enemy when the German was retreating. the Engines couldn't be repaired by the factory himself and the contract was given to the engineer Gabriel Voisin who had great difficulty to make them working again. the French Fw.190 was them renamed Nc.900

The first Nc.900 to be finished was the 15 march 1945 and was put into serviced into the Escadron de chasse 2/30 Normandie-Niemen (Neu-Neu) the first February 1945. but the plane had a lot of difficulty to be accepted by their new pilot who was fighting those plane in the eastern front. also the plane was having a lot of reliability trouble from the engine. most likely due to their sabotage and the poor quality of the newly installed part to replace the sabotaged one. the trouble cause serial crash. the reliability was so poor that the plane was retired from active service the 16 February 1946 and the same day, the production of the factory was stopped. the Nc.900 was considered as a dangerous aircraft to fly. the first November 1946, the plane was definitively removed from the french inventory and all scrapped except the N0 62 who was repainted into the German color and exposed into Bourget airplane museum (most likely still having all the Nc.900 part)

+1. good research.

i was wondering how long it would take. i was hoping the NC.900 would be in the initial tree but sadly not. its a good plane (well, ingame and IRL pre-sabotage)

unlike even used captured planes, this was not only used, but actually built and refurbished; in france, by the french. so it fits even better than the french Spitifres or barrel O' Yakovlevs.

on a side note, wasn't another one of the many reasons for the NC.900s unreliability being that the paint combo the french used being corrosive to the Fw 190 airframe? i saw something about that when i was making the original NC.900 thread in the france planes section.

could be. but after 1year, the paint wouldn't had done much corrosion. it's not that hard to repaint a plane, it would probably not cause the plane to be retired from the army.

Maybe in the future, but for now I'm against the implementation of this aircraft.

I'll support this seeing as this one of France's more numerous fighters post-war.  iirc there was one NC.900 that they fitted with a four-bladed prop for some reason, so maybe that one should be the one added just for the sake of being at least slightly different from the other Antons.

As for where it would be...well, I voted premium, but if Gaijin finds enough planes to give them another fighter branch then it could be a regular aircraft too I guess.

iirc the primary reason was because the engines were worn out, and the lack of replacement parts was the main catalyst for their retirement.

add the Mb.151, Mb.152, Mb.155 and the real armament of the Mb.157 with the Ms.406, Ms.410 and Ms.450 and you can cover a first fighter line. add the D.520, D.521 and D.520Z with the Vg.10 on the other line and you got a 2nd fighter line. after you add the D.371s and D,500 in the early plane of one or the other line and the a few lend lease fighter where there is need for the balance and there is a lot of jet that could be the top of either one or the other line and some heavy fighter that can be added there or there and take the attacker away in their own line. Et voila! you have a good tree that the have space for the Nc.900.

but since the Nc.900 wasn't really capture but more like produced by the french fallowing the German plan, it's more fit for the main tree than the lend lease American plane that we have right now;

yeah i knew about that. it was crazy that the engines had to basically be un-sabotaged too just to get working again..
