GhostSoph@psn 2,213 Report post Posted November 23, 2017 I was given a vehicle to test for 1h as a daily reward...pretty sure this happens a lot...i wasn't aware so i am pretty sure i messed it up...hence these questions for next time... - It seemed to me i could not postpone the test...the 1h test started THEN and had to be used THEN! (This wasn't good, as i was about to leave for work) - I am pretty sure they gave me a tank, but wanted me to select an aircrew? I tried to change into a tank crew but couldn't find how... - 1h later it SEEMED to me i was given the chance to buy the unit for SILVER LIONS only...(although i didn't even test it)...i didn't take it, but was this it...i could have bought it? - And if i had bought it...IF the unit was over 3.0, would this mean i would leave the "beginners zone"? It cannot be postponed (This wasn't good, as i was about to leave for work) - I am pretty sure they gave me a tank, but wanted me to select an aircrew? You do not need to manually change it. - 1h later it SEEMED to me i was given the chance to buy the unit for SILVER LIONS only...(although i didn't even test it)...i didn't take it, but was this it...i could have bought it? That was probably the cost to add it to a crew slot. Remember whenever a new vehicle is placed in the slot, there is a charge. - And if i had bought it...IF the unit was over 3.0, would this mean i would leave the "beginners zone"? Since you are over 400 battles, you are more than likely already out of the beginner's zone friend. That usually happens after about no more than 50 battles for most. Test drives are something that were started when the rocket armed tanks first came into the game. $50 for a Calliope is a good sum of money and test drives were created as a way to allow people that could not afford them a chance to still tool about in them from time to time. The test drives have evolved since then and there are people that love and hate them.
GhostSoph@psn 2,213 Report post Posted November 23, 2017 So...the option to buy it was a "mistake" i made interpreting the text, probably...good that i didnt take it...sounded too good...and it was indeed a rocket tank. I still think it was in the window that said "Test was ended" so odd if it was the crew prize... I think i am in beginner zone, as i am trying to stay in it (i am not a very good player)...i keep changing factions and i play tanks and planes...and never research anything above 2.7. I wont have a problem when i leave it, as i think i have both "beginner" and "normal" battles...but helps with stats and learning...some missions i get so may experienced enemies i cant do anything
ogragla 675 Report post Posted November 27, 2017 Just don´t bother with these "testdrives" - you even have to pay SL to set the vehicle to a crewslot...

You can actually buy them at the end of the test drive, but it'll just ask you for the regular (GE) prize. My advice would be to only buy prem vehicles when a discount is offered. Usually, prem vehicles will go on sale at 50% off at least once or twice a year, the same is true about prem accounts and talismans for vehicles. I think i am in beginner zone, as i am trying to stay in it (i am not a very good player)...i keep changing factions and i play tanks and planes...and never research anything above 2.7. Don't worry too much about getting to higher ranked battles. The truth is that a lot of the time, higher ranked players aren't very good either (and I am including myself here - I've screwed up plenty of times). It's well worth researching higher ranked vehicles, as playing them is very different than lower ranks. For example, pretty much any low tier tank can easily disable any other low tier tank, there isn't a lot of strategy involved, tends to be more about luck and reactions. This will change at higher ranks where it's more about strategy, as tanks become specialized in different tasks and strenghts. The same is true about aircraft - at the low tiers, most aircraft are maneuverable and relatively slow, most fights are turn fights. Again, this will change as you move up the ranks, as aircraft become specialized in turn fighting, zoom and boom (*climb and dive*), or energy fighting (halfway between the previous two). Since low tiers don't heavily feature such specializations, it is challenging to learn to use them to your advantage. I wont have a problem when i leave it, as i think i have both "beginner" and "normal" battles...but helps with stats and learning...some missions i get so may experienced enemies i cant do anything Oh and btw if I as a lvl 100 player play a BR 1.0 aircraft I can still fly against you. As soon as you leave the reserve battle tier you leave the "protected" zone afaik. So really, you have nothing to worry about advancing. It'll be hard for a bit and then you'll get really good, just stick with it and have fun, don't get frustrated if you die, every time you die you can learn from it, learn what not to do :P All the best and have fun!
