Aerosmith101 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2018 I currently play U.S. but I want to switch to USSR or Britian, would I have to start all over?
Toastfrenzy@psn 371 Report post Posted February 19, 2018 (edited) No, you can play 1 ,2, 3 or all the nations if you want - though you can only play one nation in a match at a time. Switch as many times a day too - do as you please. But you would have to start at the very bottom of the research tree. jancc 314 Report post Posted February 19, 2018 (edited) simply put-you can freely switch nations, tho you start at the bottom(on every nation)-you also cant combine nations(one vehicle from britanin, one from USSR...) i would suggest reaching rank 3 on at least one nation to unlock warbonds Edited February 19, 2018 by jancc typo

MrTommi 55 Report post Posted February 19, 2018 Starting a new nation will only give you the reserve vehicles. You also start with "green" crews. You have to start anew with researching vehicles and training crews in the new nation(s). You can share lions, eagles and convertible RP between nations. Crew xp and vehicle research sticks with the nation with which it was earned.
GhostSoph@psn 2,213 Report post Posted February 20, 2018 Just to be clear...you can KEEP the U.S units you have...and go back to them whenever you want... In fact...you can go a do a Brit or Russian mission right now...and 10min be back at your US lineup... Each faction is independent...separate trees, separate crews, etc... sirkiwi123 80 Report post Posted April 2, 2018 It's good to swap as you can take off automatic repair and play with other nations so your SLs will shoot up
steveh2112 4 Report post Posted June 16, 2018 i was about to ask the same thing. i already have a tier 2 tank and kind of got used to what i have, so starting over from scratch doesn't sound appealing. is there no way to trade in your tanks and crews and 'defect'? You will keep the vehicles you have researched in that nation and the crews that you have trained for those vehicles. Starting another nation will not reset that. It is not possible to trade/reset your vehicle research progress or bought crews.
Nickinburg 241 Report post Posted June 17, 2018 This is one of Warthunder's major advantages over games like World of Tanks/Warships/Warplanes. In those games you have a limited number of crew slots for all nations. And you can only have one vehicle in the slot at a time. If you wanted to move on to a higher rank tank for example, you'd have to remove your current tank from the slot and you lose all crew experience on that vehicle, on top of having to pay for it again if you ever wanted to drive it again in the future. Not fun in my opinion! In Warthunder, with one account you can play as many nations as you want, and play both tanks and or planes. As long as you have a vehicle in a crew slot, it will always be there for you to swap to at any time, and your crews don't lose experience or anything in the meantime. That said, if you choose to start grinding a new nation, you start at the bottom. All your crews are green rookies with no experience, and you start back in reserve tiers. Essentially you start from scratch, the only thing is you can freely switch back to another nation and play your higher ranked vehicles at any time.
