20/2/18 [1.75.0.194] Ki-49 wrong flap

1. The full name of the vehicle affected. If the problem is isolated to one difficulty setting (e.g. Simulator), specify which.

  • Ki-49-I
  • Ki-49-IIa
  • Ki-49-IIb
  • Ki-49-IIb/Late

2. A detailed description of the issue you have or what you see as being erroneous regarding its representation in-game.

All models of Ki-49 have wrong flaps.

In historical fact, Nakajima Ki-49 Army Type 100 Heavy Bomber had Fowler flaps.

However, in the game, Ki-49 has a split flap.

3. Unless the data is taken from an official Gaijin statement, please provide a documented test and provide the Client Log from that session.

I observed flaps with a test flight to confirm this problem.

4. A detailed description of the fix you suggest. Provide sources including reference that underline your position.

I will suggest that you change the flap of Ki-49 to Fowler flap.

Translation:

The flap is equipped with "Fowler" flaps to prevent wing area expansion, effective angle of attack increase, speed range expansion, swirl wake on the back of the flap during takeoff and landing.

Its structure is a stress sheath structure made of No. 4 aluminum alloy and has arm brackets at five places.
There are two rollers on the arm fitting, fitting in the rail on the main wing side, guide the movement of the flap and absorb the twist due to wind pressure.

Attach the control cable to the first and fourth arm brackets and operate the flaps accordingly.
In order to minimize loosening of the cable during operation, guide brackets are installed on the arm brackets.

The movable angle of the flap is 35°.

The flap mounting angle is (-) 4.6° with respect to the fuselage reference line on its lower surface.
When the flap operation starts, the flap moves to the rear, first opens to (+) 20°, then moves backward while keeping (+) 20°, and finally opens to (+) 35°.
The flap indicator indicates 20° and 30° respectively with white light at the last (+) 20° and (+) 35° position.
The lighting period is 5% before and after the indicated angle.

Translation:

At takeoff, please use the flap approximately at an angle of approximately 20°. (Position where the white light indicates the display of 20°.)

If the flight weight is less than about 8500 kg, you do not have to use the flap.
However, please be aware that the takeoff distance will be longer.

Please do landing gear "up" promptly after takeoff, "close" the flap after the gear up is over.
In this case, setting the flap to "close" at a stroke will cause the descent of the airplane, so intermittently operate the flap and gradually "close".

Please use the flap at 35° of opening when landing.

Original:
