FATAL ERROR: EXCEPTION

AVG forum has been a waste of time, was asked to turn several things off and no dif ,  then their last resort so to uninstall AVG and see what happens????? , which I told them several post before was  the only option to AVG user to eliminate the crash 

 

So I guess its a long wait before any thing gets done

I had same issue as many of you have faced and it left me scratching my head. I just now uninstalled AVG and it works fine for now. no issues so far

I had the same error, I installed the easy anti-cheat and the game started runnig.

this game worked fine for 7 years but after the last update it is impossible to play, I read the whole forum I tried everything I found but without effect, the crash of every battle

I've been playing war thunder for around 2 years on and off now without a single problem. Two day's ago, when I updated the game I would get this same FATAL ERROR: EXCEPTION CRASH. I have tried every solution from above:
-reinstalled the game

-unticked the nvidia options and attempted to start the game at low settings and in windowed mode

-Completely uninstalled all of my nvidia drives using DDU and then reinstalled them

-Tried all of the options again with the fresh drivers

 

Laptop Model: HP Omen 15

My Specs:
-Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21GHz

-16gb of RAM

-Nvidia Geforce 1050ti 

-Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

-64bit operating System

Please help me, this is one of my favourite games and  I miss playing it

found the fix and you don't need to uninstall your antivurus, just add C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam to exceptions

 

for AVG just go into  menu > settings > exceptions > add exception 

 

 

War thunder is now currently working :)

what kind of update ?! Windows, (gpu) drivers, hardware ?!

It was a hardware update, had gone from an i7 4790k with 32gb ddr3(forget what speed) and Nvidia 2070 to Ryzen r7 3800x with 16gb ddr4 3200mhz and gigabyte x570 aurous elite mobo and the same gpu

 

No other games on my pc crash the way that war thunder does and the pc was upgraded early last month

Almost identical update as Cpt_Baker 4770k to 3700X with RTX 2070. 

 

Error actually only occurred after an Nvidia driver update but has been constant ever since.  Tried rolling back the driver but with zero effect, seems this is here to stay.  If I ignore it the game will load and I can play providing I'm careful not to accidently hit the "Ok" on the exception window or "close & restart" window.  Gone from playing most every day to trying every couple of weeks to see if any updates have fixed it yet. 

 

 

Edit:  Just a quick addendum I completely uninstalled the game from Steam today.  Full download after cleaning out all the old files (remembering to backup my controls profile first) and yeah same exact error once again.  Happens with or without Anti-Virus running so it's not that either.

I am getting it at the middle of the game, just when you want to aim to somebody and sometimes in the worst moments... It is really very rare like each 4 hours or so of gameplay but unconfortable.. I don't use Avast and never got problems like this until last update.

Well yesterday had freeze detected error but...

After that updated windows and checked drivers, everything up to date now but now I had Exception error

for user in original launcher (for steam user dont know!)

check "Easy Anticheat" in the down right corner when starting the application.

Easy Anti-cheat on or off makes no difference.  I mostly play ground forces so it's a requirement anyway.

I found a way around this error:

If your game starts, but you see this error, ignore it and switch to the game's window.

Worked for me.
