FATAL ERROR: EXCEPTION

I have played WT for years, never a single crash and I sometimes keep it whole day in the background and alt tab to it... In the last month, this happens every single day, at least once. I have tried a radeon gpu, gtx also. anticheat on/off... antivirus on/off, nothing helps!

I'm glad I'm not the only one here having this happen.

 

For the last several weeks, and months -- no issues what-so-ever.  As far as I can tell, no major windows updates or other updates came down to my machine.

 

Randomly -- I started getting the "FATAL ERROR --- EXCEPTION" screen -- regardless of what options I had enabled.

 

I've tried:

- DDU in Safe Mode (Fresh Driver Install) (No GeForce Experience Installed) (1080TI here..)

- New install of War Thunder (Both a Steam copy, and another copy installed in a different location -- not at the same time)

- Setting to Windowed Mode

- Turning the Graphics to lowest

- Turning off the NVIDIA Highlight

- Easy AntiCheat ON and OFF

- Work-in-Progress Client ON and OFF

- Full Client or No Full Client

- VSYNC Off, On, Adaptive

- Resolution at everything from 1024x768 to 3440x1440 (my monitors res)

- Old Video Card Support (ON or OFF)

- Render to AUTO or OpenGL

- System Reboots (of course)

- Sound (On/Off)

 

Starting to run dry thinking what else I can try.  

 

This system is a beast and run everything I can throw at it -- except the occasional WT.

So --- not sure whats my next step...

I used to have the very same problem, but ever since Easy Anticheat was clicked (installed) the "fatal error: exception" does not show any more.

Now it is working without a hitch.

Hi everyone,

I am stuck with a "Fatal Error : Exeption"

I install the game and I play a couple of Hours with anyproblem. All was full ok.

I come back to the game one day, and I have like scratches during the login (see picture) . I wasnt able to acced to the Hanguar, or when i acced, graphic was absolutely awfull, and the game crashes right away after.

I deinstall the game completely (i am not on Steam so deinstallation was complete) , reinstall the game. Same issue.

I deinstall my GPU driver with a DDU, reinstall up to date drivers. Same issue, this error code appear "   p3pfhmshr   "

I install instead an older GPU driver and I was able to launch the game, but it was really low on FPS.

The next morning i wasnt able to launch the game.

I Never physically touch my video card, I check for running any virus or malware, I deinstall AVG or AVAST, because WT have issue with those software.

Once I succed to acceed to the hangar, this error message apear "Video drivers hung and was restarted. Video quality remains low". So it was definitly  a GPU drivers issue.

I download "DriverGenius" for installing up to date Nvidia drivers. II am still stuck with a Fatal Error, or just the game crashing with no error message before the logging.

 

I have a TOSHIBA satellite S50t
Windows 10
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GT 740M, VRAM 2Gb
RAM 6GB

My computer was reboot from not so long ago.

 

I have the same graphics troubles when i laucnh Steam or Geforce.

So an update from my version of this issue.  I launched the game seperate from Steam last night and it worked.  I then launched it through Steam and it worked.  So without actively changing a thing it's now working again without issue.  I'm assuming some minor Windoze update fixed it but hey I'm back & rusty af but still chat banned for life because well done squadrons with your group reports after getting your butts handed to you by a solo player.

I too am having this issue   Usually happens a little while after playing however and usually always (all but once) happens while in a match.   Nothing special happening on screen or anything. Just driving my tank through a countryside and boom freeze and then this error with the option to close and restart the game.   I've chosen the send option each time to see if they are able to fix it but ive not seen anything addressed as of yet.

32gigs of ram.

Bump - I'm having the same issue, here are my logs;
specs: i5-3570k delidded and the overclocking settings can lead to crashes (not my fault, got these parts secondhand, was told not to mess with the oc settings, so I haven't)

Nvidia GTX 1050, msi variant, I don't know the specifics of the OEM

I havent been able to play this game since 2013 because of this error! it is futile to find a solution that sticks unless you get a totally new PC that perhaps may be compatable with the game somehow yet unknown to Gaijin

- disable Razer Cortex

- unplug your joystick (it's using a driver that has been causing issues in the past (C:\Windows\USB_Vibration\7906\EZFRD64.DLL) - i guess this will be the main cause for the crash)

- maybe also disable SSAA 4x in the advanced settings of the launcher (gear icon next to the graphics presets) since it's extremely taxing on the system

Hello everyone, I think I might have a similar issue.  My game works until after logging in.  Crashes every time. 

Thought it was a driver issue,  but multiple versi ons later I still can't get into the game.

 

I have done a full reinstall at least twice, verified files, and tweaked various graphic settings to no avail.

you seem to have DisplayLink (a multimonitor / external monitor setup tool) installed.

DisplayLink has been causing issues (with WT) in the past already - you could try to

disable it (if possible) or even uninstall it if it's not absolutely needed then try again to

start the game.

Removed DisplayLink.  Did a clean driver install. Reset and it looks like everything is fixed.  Thanks a lot!

    I found the solution by testing step by step test and faileing.

 

  first of all update all your drivers (graphic, sound , Mother boards ,...)

  Second and most importance update your .Net framework

 

and after that  enjoy RED Sky

Same problem since "Red Skies"! So much I appreciate the new features, - I've been waiting a long time for DLSS for VR. But since "Red Skies" War Thunder does no longer works for me. Sometimes I can fly 20 minutes, sometimes half an hour maximum (in VR/ReverbG2, RTX3080/I7-9700k/Z390mb), usually the game crashes after a few minutes.Always with error message "Fatal Error - Exception" It makes no sense at all to start War Thunder anymore.

My game keeps crashing nonstop recently and can't figure why. I have clean uninstall reinstall graphics drivers, uninstall all game files and reinstall, update to the latest windows and it's features, and nothing to seems to work. I attached my log dumps and hope someone can figure it out for me.

one of the worst logs i've ever seen Oo

it's just that big because of one error message being repeated over and over and over again.

(and i guess in the end that's what causing the client to crash)

 

but i have no clue what the root cause is... you could try running the game without custom skins

(rename the ..\War Thunder\UserSkins\ folder or move it to a backup location so you don't have

 to download the skins again if they are not the cause), also you should use the default hangar

(either by removing the custom hangar line in the config.blk or type // in front of it so it gets ignored)

 

and maybe run the game without any fancy options like DLSS and especially HDR since they have

been causing some issues in the past...

 

when you've disabled / removed those and the issue persists you could post the latest clog again

so i may have a look if the same error still appears.
