Allied fighter weaknesses

Hello, i have been playing war thunder for quite a while now, but only a month ago I have started to actively and daily play the game. I leveled the German tech tree for a month now, and unlocked the 109F and G for purchase, but didn't buy anyone of them yet, as I prefer the 109e1. The thing is, that I wanted to get into those versions now, but I used to go after bombers only. And as the F version doesn't have wing mounted guns, I need to adapt for fighters. So I wanted to ask if anybody knows the weakpoints of the Spitfire MkV, p47D, p51, p51D, p38G and p39 (I know that the p39 didn't change much in later models) besides the cockpit of course.

Thanks in advance. :)

If you really prefer the bf109 E1 for bomber hunting you might want to check out the E4 asap. 2x20mm guns hit very hard on bombers. I don't know if you are aware of the great potential of the 109 F. Especially the F4 with its mg151 is really really good, even for taking out bombers. I would recommend trying out the F1 and F4, skip the F2.

Below a very rudimentary list with weakpoints of the fighters you mentioned,

Spitfire MkV - slow, overheats quickly. Poor energy retention. Not the best guns. (except voor the -c versions.)

P51 - Starts to fade above 4-5km, generally outclassed by Bf-109 F4, poor slow speed handling.

P51D-5 - Slow climb, excels at high altitude over 6km, below not that good, poor slow speed handling.

P51D-30 - Beast. Only poor handling at very high speeds.

P38G - big target, not the best turner. High altitude performance, low altitude pretty poor.

p39 - Below 4km it is a beast, above 4km it chokes. 3 types of guns make aiming difficult. 37mm if hits right is instaboom though. Not the best turner.

You are in for a treat! The E-4 and the bf 109s after it packs air-targets ammunition belts with Minengeshoss rounds that has 20 Gs of TNT. They will shred everything in it´s way.
My tip is to get the F1,F2,F4 to get used to two very underpowered machine guns but with a very powerful gun. In those you will face easier planes to take out and you will get used to the low amount of cannon ammunition that the bf 109 has. Btw is the f4 the first bf 109 that you can enable gun pods on so you get more Minengeshoss rounds to fire. The gun pods will reduce your performance though. And if you are good enough the single Motorkanone is more then enough.

Summary: The bf 109 after the E-1 is OP when used right, in my opinion there is no shortcut to that besides just playing and training. Energyfighting and BNZ is the way to go, you can turn fight with flaps on most of the 109s but it is not recommended.

When it comes to the aircrafts weaknesses i think you also just need to practice. The will rip either way with the Minengeshoss rounds and your accuracy (that is needed).

Climb, assess the situation, dive, shoot, kill, get up, re-assess the situation and repeat.

Altitude and speed is life.

Cheers
