DESCRIPTION

 

Véhicule de l’Avant Blindé (VAB HOT) or "VAB MEPHISTO" ( Module Elevateur Panoramique Hot Installé Sur Tourelle Orientable ) The VAB HOT is an antitank version of the most widespread troop carrier of the French army, the VAB. Able to fight against tanks of great autonomy (maximum range of 4000 meters), the VAB HOT is intended for antitank companies. 

 

Simple and mobile, the VAB is the base vehicle of light armored infantry. This 4-wheel machine can be adapted to a wide variety of jobs. Adapted to strategic movements thanks to a range of 1,200 km, it is transportable by air.

 

 

 

HISTORY BACKGROUND

The first antitank company with this weapon system was created in the early 1980s in the French army. It was called "CAC 3" because it was part of the 3rd armored division, which is part of the French forces in Germany. Its strength came from half of the 110th R.I. (MILAN force) and the 19th century. (effective AMX13 canon-SS11). He was stationed for a long time in Donaueschingen. His first mission was to invent, test and develop the entire operational part of the machine from the room until the use of the incorporated company. She was at the direct disposal of the E.M. of the D.B. and had received the affectionate nickname of firefighters on the battlefield. This weapon system was used by Daguet Division, which fired about 60 missiles during Operation Desert Storm in February 1991.

+1 all for it. a quartet of HOT missiles and tracks will make the Mephisto a whole hell of a lot better than the AMX-13 HOT.

VAB Hot is not intended to fight in a city. It's an open ground combat vehicule. It stay behind the hill and it's just the remote platform with 4 hot the adversary see !

and try to hit this small thing at 3 or 4 km,  or just try to dectect it  

this vehicule must be the tier VI tank destroyer

it most certainly will be. the AMX-13 HOT is already at 9.0

amx 13 is not a TD its a scout replace by AMX 10 RC with 105 mm gun gun is useless for this tier and to fire the hot you must expose all the tank ...

yes the AMX-13 HOT is badly placed, but few ATGM carriers have any armor, and almost all of them have some major drawback.

 

the VAB MEPHISTO on the other hand is more like the IT-1 and raketenjagdpanzers in that the launch orientation of the HOTs isn't fixed in place since the missile rack can elevate and depress. its major drawback is that as an APC it can barely survive .30 caliber bullets let alone .50cals or the dreaded 14.5mm KPVT. but on the other hand it has the advantage of a traversable missile rack and high maneuverability. it can up (relatively) up close and/or flank with ease and blast from point plank range, or it can camp behind a defilade or wall and nuke tanks with impunity.

still all for the mephisto. now that the AMX-40 is ingame the mephisto has both the simple usability and the only ATGMs remaining that are still relevant at top tier.

I think gaijin must to put it in the game because it's a really interessant vehicule, fast and with atgm, and a real atgm tank, because the amx13 (hot), is not really good (no fast, just 6 atgm, a bad sniper see

12 missiles is largely enough, especially since it also has the .30 cal protection. Good enough for me to be in game and replace the AMX13 HOT at 9.0 (which should drop at 8.0 maximum).
