Will the matchmaker ever be changed/fixed

Now I get it, my squadron isn't a top 50 squadron, but I am very very curious, what is up with this matchmaker? It just enrages me when we get 9/10 people online, super hype to play Squadron Battles, and then we queue. And we queue. And we queue. It appears the other 9 squads in queue are all being matched and constantly pop in and out. Now I get the reasoning about skill based matchmaking but at this point, if you want to compete and you don't get the jump on a season then it is completely impossible to gain points as you aren't matched with the larger squads just due to the points difference. I personally feel like this is a huge issue, as this kind of ignorant reasoning is beginning to turn me away from such a wonderful game that my squadmates and myself all believe has a huge potential. However, I would like some second opinions on this, please, and I urge you guys, to discuss this stuff as I feel it may affect more than just our Squadron.

I'd suggest you play at the start of the season like all the other squads to build up some points. Gaijin implemented this structure cause squadrons would complain that top 10 squadrons were getting matched with newer squadrons too much and it was unfair.  

 

So now if you don't have points by half way through the season were many other squadrons have, you'll find it difficult to get games. 

 

I'd also suggest playing when the BRs are higher and more squadrons are playing. You'll probably find your que times will be shorter.

You got one of two options here: One, you can be patient and wait to fight a squadron that is not very good, and easy to beat. Or two, get a fast match, but be faced with the dilemma that me and my squadron face, and be just a top 40 team and consistently get against teams that are in the top 10/15 in points, oftentimes the top 3 squads. Pick your poison brother.

The match making is not broken and is working as intended. Ello rating.

I agree with the fact that we should start at the beginning of the season. My issue is that even when we have another squad in queue at the same time, and the queue time has reached 30 minutes, it's a little ridiculous. Appreciate the feedback though

You can always try to find a squadron that has a similar problem and set a time when youll que together. After  maybe 10-15 such scheduled matches  you might have enough points to que whenever.

That usually works out much better for one team but not the other

Seriously tho, i dont know enough about the points system, how about rigging the matches after a while could that take both teams out of the hole? It might take a while longer...

I'm sorry, but how this is set up is garbage. I head up EC's WT division, and for the last two weeks we haven't been able to get a match even when others are in the ques. It's killing interest because we can't get into games, so we're doing custom battles instead (which aren't as engaging.). We'd rather get into matches then just sitting in the hangar for half an hour at a time so we can enjoy ourselves. Either that or let us take larger teams into regular matches...

I think after a couple of minutes the matchmaker should get more and more liberal. First 3 Minutes looking for a similar ranked squadron and then slowly expand the searching area.

Steiner I completely agree, there is no reason that when we are queueing for over 10 minutes and someone else enters the matchmaker that we shouldn't be paired up due to unfair ratings. At that point i'd rather play a great team than not at all

But there you go. Enemy and police cant get a match. Assuming you play the same mode, work out when both squads can que up and with some real fighting and a bit of coordination you can get the points needed to get other squads in a match. If you play different modes just get one squad to win 10 ab matches and the other 10 rb. This can take 1 afternoon/evning. Its stupid but it gets you out of the situation youre in.

Lilkdub, I'd be willing to try coordinating both our teems getting into squad battles, assuming you guys are game to do the same. Partizann does bring up a point, and we could both benefit if it works...

The match making already becomes more liberal after a few minutes. I think it caps at 500-600 points difference between de highest °personal° squadron battle rating.
