This vehicle is one of the most newest JGSDF combat vehicle. Feature of this is its weapon, defense and speed. Its main gun is Japan Steel Works 105mm rifle/L52, can equip additional armor, and speed is over 100km/h.

I guess this tank will be very good tank-destroyer for high-rank Japanese ground-force tree!

At least mod.I and mod.II is same one.

What type of armor was hided. (spaced or composite?)

I guess mod. I and II is spaced armor, and mod.III is composite armor. (only guess!!!)

Japanese translation and English parts are reversed.

Type 16 MCV is really cool.
I certainly would like to use it.
But the detailed performance is not the national security?

Yes, but some part of them provided by Information disclosure request. (Not by me)

How new a vehicle is isn't relevant to game inclusion, all that matters is if it can be balanced and implemented accurately into the game.

well you somewhat contradict yourself here since the fact that this vehicle is so modern will make it very hard to accurately model in game performance wise.
also seeing as this would be designed to fight tanks far more modern then our current top tiers it will likely have shells that will blow our current top tier out of the water with impunity.
there are beter options for japanese top tier such as the type 89 IFV which would be akin to the begleitpanzer 57 in game.
and whilst age of a vehicle is not oftent a concern for this game i think we can all agree that a vehicle that has not even been delivered in any real numbers to troops is a bit too young.

In JGSDF, whole tanks data is Top Secret (Include Type 61 lol) but we can see lots of there tanks.

Maybe this unit's difficulty to make game performance is same as Type 89 or Type 90.

Edit: Whole Japanese tank specifications include before WW2 are secret, too...

its very crazy

I like the idea, but I would say ingame we should add it if we get appropriate contemporaries, as well as if it gets scouting they should go to perhaps 9.0-9.3.

I'd love to see this in-game, ofcourse we know next to nothing on it, so don't expect it to actually be introduced any time soon.
In all seriousness, 8.7 is WAY too low, looking at that Type 93 APFSDS it's probably on par with M833, combine that with probably a reasonably strong turret front (I excpect XM1 levels or higher), really good mobility and arguably most importantly probably fits the meta perfectly.

So yeah, if you give me an option for 9.0-10.0, I'd be down for it.

Yea it is. The French and Italians had some good armored cars which could be called modern day tank destroyers.

all for it.

as i really realized when grinding for the T-34E in operation SUFFER, the pakwagen is just beastly with its incredible speed and gun at low tier, it can devastate entire teams if played right. the Type 16 prototype could do the same thing if placed just outside top tier, and the production version could add top tier depth to japan.

even if gaijin omits the Type 93 APFSDS and Type 91 HEAT-MP (no reason why they would save for BR considerations or prototype-production differences) the Type 16 would work like a high tier pakwagen even with just the M735 and Type 75 HEP/HESH- outflanking even the flankers and unloading on their sides.

The Carl Gustaf has the FFV551 as the primary HEAT round and is a rocket-assisted projectile (RAP). Effective range is up to 700 m (400m against moving targets) and penetration up to 400 mm of RHA. Ammunition weight is 3.2 kg and muzzle velocity is 255 m/s---according to wiki.

Type 16 MCV has over 400mm protection vs HEAT with that ceramic composite armor. Nice! Wonder what protection it has without that extra armor there.

Gaijin said that they will add modern tanks already. So the year the tank was made wont matter anymore but the performance of the vehicle does now. If it fits the meta, there is a possible chance it may arrive to WT. The only problem will be the secret data. The most and other modern tanks are super super super secrete, so it will be harder to get info to add. so to rap it up, year was made won't matter anymore, only the performance and if it fits the meta will.

In the next update we're getting the AH-1Z in the game, which come into production in 2010, so I don't think introduction dates actually matter anymore.

That said, it uses the same turret from the Type 10 MBT (with different armour packages) so getting any sort of protection information would be very difficult. It is however only resistant to 30mm auto-cannons frontally because it lacks the KE protection packages in the turret. And would be using at minimum Type 93 APFSDS (not sure if they ever developed a newer one) so somewhere in M883 levels or possibly better. Would be a really cool addition, but I don't think it's going to happen any time soon.

Type 93 APFSDS is developed by DAIKIN INDUSTRIES, Ltd.  I don't know performance of M883, but in the guess penetration of Type 93 is 414mm / 2000 m.
