Tutorial for PvE (Assault Air Arcade)

PREAMBLE: This tutorial will help you increase your success rate in PvE missions. If at least 4 players in team are playing by this guide, winning is almost certain. (7 out of 8 from personal experience)

 

OBJECTIVE: This is the team effort, so play as a team, and try to influence other players to do the same. No need to be hasty, because kill count doesn’t affect your final reward (or it does by a very low margin). The only real difference in RP and SL gain is between winning and losing.

 

REWARD: If you lose the game you don’t get almost anything in return. You get some menial reward for every wave you have survived as a team, but it is around 50-150RP per wave. If you win you will get 6000RP + bunch of SL with premium account, and half of it without premium. It doesn’t matter how much kills you make, the reward is almost the same so don’t rush over half of the map just to get that one extra fighter killed. (you are more useful to the team if you kill 5 bombers or howitzers, than 50 fighters)

 

 

TACTICS:

        

PRIORITY TARGETS:        Always make Howitzers and Bombers a priority targets. Between waves try to go high over the base (3500-4000m), and wait for the next wave. That way you will be relatively close to the next wave, wherever it spawns. While attacking bombers, try to kill the leading three as fast as possible. By doing so, you will break their formation, buying you some extra time to take them down. Try to organize so that only 1 or 2 players go for fighters while the rest of the pack goes over the base waiting for the next wave of bombers or howitzers. In every battle there are players that hunt for kill count, and they always chase fighters. You can use that and focus on howitzers and bombers and try to do things that really matter in this game mode. Fighters are obstruction (they are there to pull the team apart), easy to kill, and they make very low damage (if any) to the base, so there is no need to focus on them. Leave fighters to “my kill, my kill” players, and focus on real task. Evan if there are two waves of fighters inbound, just stay above the base and wait for Howitzers or  Bombers. Stay focused on primary targets no matter what.

 

 

WASTING TIME:

DO NOT LAND:      Game lasts 30 minutes, so don’t waste time. If you get damaged, don’t land. Jump out and take a new plane. Don’t waste 5+ minutes on getting to the airfield, getting repaired, taking off, climbing and getting back into the battle. In that time, before you get back and start being useful, the game might already be close to disaster. Also 1000-3000SL (depending on your BR) is not worth losing the game. Team needs all the firepower it can get to win at any given time.

 

DO NOT HIKE:       If you are far from the wave of bombers or howitzers, don’t waste time climbing or going 10km diagonally over the map to get to it. Jump out, respawn over the base and head towards the enemy as fast as you can. Howitzers make fast damage to the base (about 1HP per second), so if you get into the map where the base has 60 or 80 HP, howitzers can end the game very fast. Also it is best to suppress bombers as far from the base as possible, in case that there are too many “fighter hunters” and that you need extra time to clean the wave of bombers. Time lost in hiking over the map can be a game ender.

  

LOWEST PRIORITY:                  NPC planes don’t reload, so if the plane dropped its bombs, you can leave it above the base, and go for some other target (next wave). It will continue to circle over the base until the end of the game, making no additional damage, so you can kill it at the end, when all the waves are cleared. This is one more of games mechanisms that is built to waste your time

This is good stuff, but just to add:

- Fighters/attackers haven't damaged the base at all for several months now, and can be completely ignored until the end of the game

- Howitzers, since 1.79, can take out over half a base on each wave, and should be absolute top priority

- Bombers, since 1.79, need a proper bombing run to drop and disrupting them is way more effective than it used to be

- I assume nobody reads these because wow there's a lot of people who have no idea at all how this mode works. It's a shame, it's my favourite but winning isn't getting any easier.

Yes... I wrote this prior to 1.79 (or just as it came out based on my 1.77 experience).

Howitzers make around 1DPS and with low HQ health, they do a very fast job of destroying it. 

There is a new thing about bombers as well:

       - If you kill the leading 3 bombers, that will break their formation, but 3 more bombers will continue going straight. If you kill those 3 as well, remaining

What about 7000 to 13000SL? Still not worth to repair?

 

PS Do really need 5mins to repair and climb? I don't believe...

It's more like 3-3.5 minutes depending on how fast you climb, and how upgraded your repair speeds are, to get back up to around 3500m.
