No sound playing in War Thunder at all

Hello.

I have recently come back to War Thunder after awhile.

Well... twice. I came back once and found out my sound was not working. I couldn't be bothered though so I just closed the game.

I came back again today and realized I should probably try to fix it.

So I went through my choices of

     - Turning my sound on in the launcher (the easy one)

     - Going into my game and enabling sound

     - Going into volume mixer and making sure the game volume is up

     - Going into the config files and changing "fmod_sound_enable:b=no" to "fmod_sound_enable:b=yes" (I saw this on another post. I decided to try it but found out it was already at yes. I think this is the same as enabling sound in the options but whatever...)

     - Reinstalling the game

     - Signing out and making sure all audio devices are correctly in the laptop (Found this on another post as well, but no luck)

I usually don't make forum posts... at all so forgive me if I'm doing something wrong. It just seems like every other forum post is closed due to being solved, but they're all being solved by the options I already tried above...

I don't know how to really troubleshoot this issue so I'm asking for help. Maybe it was an update? It was random, it just randomly stopped working one day so I don't have much information.

Check the config.blk scroll down to "sound" and check if you have this "enable_mod:b=yes" if so delete that since that's a option to enable sound mod it would probably break the sound on the game.

And check also if you have a old sound mod installed since their isn't much explanation not unless you have a virus in your computer or something and have you tried playing other games if their sound is ok? if you did and it was fine its definitely what i said above and if they are also broken then probably some kind of virus who knows and if what i suggested didn't work try reinstalling again delete everything related to WT (any folders etc) and turn off your anti-virus try to see if it work since sometimes anti-virus tend to block something.

That's not an option under my sound config.

sound{
  speakerMode:t="auto"
  fmod_sound_enable:b=yes
}

No ""enable_mod:b=yes"

That's the config before it moves onto video.

Sound works for every other program except War Thunder.

I don't have any viruses, I have a pretty good anti-virus and I'm not downloading anything suspicious anyways.

I'll try to delete the config folder so that it force resets the settings back to default but I doubt it'd work.

Any other suggestions or is this pretty much unsolvable without more information?

Okay so this is odd... I was just flying around in test having some fun with a Focke Wulf.

My render distance seemed low so I looked up how to change it. Max is 2.2 but I set it to 8 and saved. He told me I needed to disable modifications on the launcher so it didn't automatically reset the config to 2.2

When I did this... bam my sound worked...

So if anyone randomly has this issue aswell try disabling modifications in the config file properties I suppose. It's just odd the launcher must have automatically been turning my sound off.

Okayyyyyy so I have no idea what is wrong with my game.

So I managed to get the sound to work.

I launch the game.

I realize my settings have been reset from movie to high.

I set my settings to movie and restart.

Sound breaks.

I exit the game, enable modifications on the config file, and launch again. Sound works!

All my settings are on movie + now, sound is working, but I realize my Vsync is off which is creating bad screen tearing. I turn it on, restart to enable, and my sound is broken again.

So my thinking is that Vsync might be causing the issue.

I relaunch with Vsync disabled and my sound is broken again. I don't know what the launcher is changing in my config files, but something is breaking my sound. It's weird because it's completely inconsistent, atleast from what I know.

I think I managed to fix it though.

I restricted the config file again so nothing, not even the game could change it. It resets my settings to high when I do it though for some reason. But now my sound works.

I don't even know what is happening I'm pretty confused, maybe it's some graphics setting breaking the sound?

Anyways, to whoever actually decided to read this and *care* then maybe you could help. I just don't think anyone else has this issue is the problem.

1. what modifications ?

2. do you have (or did you have) a sound mod installed ?

3. did you also check the internet radio setting in the ingame options ?

4. did you check your windows sound settings as well (maybe remove or disable unused sound devices (like the sound output of the videocard if you dont use it) ?

5. could you maybe upload your config.blk (the one you've edited and maybe the one getting 'adjusted' by the game as well) ?

6. what kind of sound setup do you use anyway (usb / blutooth headset, onboard sound with speakers etc etc) ?

When I say "enable modifications" I mean I allowed the system to make changes to the config document. If you go into properties you can go into security and make it so nobody can actually change your settings, not even the game itself.

I have no sound mods.

I checked my windows settings.

This is my config file

It's just odd, because one of these settings is breaking my sound but I have no idea which, or why. Maybe that will help.

Why not also check also the drivers etc needed to be updated in your computer since sometimes they **** things up honestly idk what's the problem not unless its some outdated driver breaking the game or your PC has a virus or their is probably some kind of program automatically resets your setting or interfering honestly idk.
