heavy tank VK 30.01 (H)

Hello everyone!

Well, some time ago I made the suggestion of VK 30.01 H as a proposal to bridge the gap between PzIII and Tiger, next to VK 36.01

 

 

However, in this suggestion, we had only one weapon option for the VK 30.01, and as we all know, he had three weapon options.

 

Basically the VK 30.01 was a square armor tank, 50mm front, and side.

 

The first tank of the zeroth batch, captured by the British in the spring og 1945. This was the only tank from the D.W./VK 30.01 family to receive a turret.

This version with KwK 37 cannon, is very similar to a PzIV F1, has the same front shield, and a little more side shield. And it could perfectly be a Tier II rating 2.3 ~ 2.7

 

It was also designed to use the 105mm cannon, similar to that used on StuH 42.

That could be somewhere between 3.0 ~ 3.3

 

 

But without a doubt, the most interesting version of the VK 30.01 would be the KwK 40 L43, with the same gun used in the PzIV F2

One of the limitations imposed on the commander was that during the firing of the cannon, the commander could not remain in his traditional position. It should move right or left.
One proof of this was that the turret of his predecessor, already had the dome shifted to the left.

The turret of the VK 36.01 was similar to the VK 30.01(H). Since a larger gun would be installed, the commander and his cupola were shifted to the left.

This version could be useful, to help the PzIV F2, which is currently the only German tank with turret in 3.7

The VK30.01 during World War II can be seen as the forerunner of Tiger and Panther tanks. at the time, and the tower should mount a 75mm pressure pistol. However, the tests revealed that this weapon was highly unreliable and later developments occurred. The design was finally canceled, however, an elongated version of the VK30.01 hull was used for the 128mm Stuter Emil self-propelled pistol. But this on the lower level will be a big monster

I agree, but I also think the 105mm version would be interesting around 3.0~3.3
The only version I particularly have no interest in is KwK 37

My idea would be to move the PzIII to the line of medium tanks.
Use the 3 versions of VK 30.01 as 2.7, 3.3 and 3.7
And use the VK 36.01 (H) with the KwK 40 in 5.0
That would leave an exclusive line of heavy tanks for Germany

I had thought of something like this, but your idea is valid as well.
