Bandkanon 1A 155mm

The real Swedish monster. The Bandkanon 1 consisted of a modified (extended) chassis of Strv 103A tank. A tower with a 155 mm cannon is placed on the chassis. The cannon was equipped with an automatic loader, capable of firing 14 projectiles in 45 seconds. With a round already loaded in the gun next to the two seven-round clips of the magazine, the shooting rate rose to the official record of 15 shots in 45 seconds. The magazine could then be reloaded with a sculpture built in about 2 minutes (fourteen into two seven billion stores, fifteenth on the barrel) in 45 seconds. High rate of fire was a great advantage, but the use of a loading machine also resulted in an increase in weapon weight to 52 tons and increased the price of the weapon. The high costs caused the production of only 26 Bandkanon 1 guns. In the 80s, they were modernized. The propulsion system was modernized using engines analogous to the Strv 103 tank, the crane designed to load the ammunition was removed and the weapon was equipped with the POS 2 navigation system. The new version was given the Bondkanon 1C designation.

The prototype trials were successful and after several investigations, 1963 was commissioned in serial production by 26 band artillery artists at AB Bofors. The idea was that this first series would be supplemented by additional vehicles in the late 1960s (a total of 70 were low in the plans), but this was never done. The new vehicle was named Bandkanon 1A 155mm.

The defense decision taken in April 1958 was considered very beneficial to the army. A large number of combat vehicles were planned for acquisition during the 1960s, in the total value of 750 million. In addition to the need to increase the number of tanks, there was also a need for infantry, artillery and air defense. A number of new projects were initiated - new, new tank, new armored automotive weapon, and new armored anti-aircraft wagon - and the sooner launched the development project of a 155 centimeter carriage artillery cannon based on KRV chassis managed to light to continue.
As early as 1949, KAF had ordered Bofors to
Proof of a 155mm armored caravan, but has now become Landsverk, who had to take on the task of obtaining a prototype based on one of the two existing KRV chassis. The prototype was completed in the early 1960s. It had a V12 powered by air cooled gasoline from the SFA and a crew of 7 men. The trial was named Artillery Changervagn (Akv) 151, according to the 1950s principle of naming vehicles. The new band artillery was planned for acquisition in 96 copies

What sort of ammunition does this thing fire?

The Bandkanon 1 155mm gun fires a HE projectile weighing 48kg complete, having a maximum range of 25,600m. There's another kind of projectile, but I do not have a model right now.

The Bkan is slow as hell (28 kph) has no gun depression and no armor and it has no ap round of any kind.

why do you want this thing?

It has -5 gun depression as quoted from the specification tab, I'm more curious as to why you'd be against it. Aren't you the guy who wants the UDES XX20 to be in-game? If that ridiculous contraption can make it to the game then there's no reason why the Bandkanon couldn't be implemented at some point.

ok i misremembered the gun depression. anyway i mean this is an spg, it was never supposed to fight tanks. And sure you could say that about the lorraine spg too but this thing is HUGE.

The UDES xx20 meanwhile was a tank destroyer and wouldnt be one shotted by anything that can pen 20 mm of armor thanks to its insane hull down capability. Also it has an actual anti tank gun (same as leo 2a4). It would require new mechanics to be implimented so it might be unrealistic but there is nothing about the vehicle itself that makes it unviable.

Dont get me wrong though I wouldnt be against adding the Bkan 1 or the Akv 151 prototype I guess but I dont think it could be anything but a meme machine.

How funny, you support the Swedish tree, but it does not support the Swedish tank itself.
Bandkanon 1C has a much better engine than the first version, and its mobility is not so bad, only problem is its speed that is limited.

In addition his depression is -5, and this is already very good for an artillery

i'm all for it. SPAs aren't even unique or unproven ingame anymore since we now have the Lorraine 155; which while being difficult to use; can nuke tanks by firing under them or by hitting close enough to the chassis roof with its HE.

while i'd greatly prefer the Bandkanon 1s if their second round is HEAT (is it?), HE has found its niche in high tier ever since the T-64B began trolling with it, not to mention with all the light vehicles being added.

I'd like it in the game, but I think you're WAY overestimating the BR and rank it can go in. It's a vehicle that can only fire HE and thus it will largely be ineffective against heavy armour. It's also incredibly slow with practically no armour. I think it needs to have a way lower BR so it can encounter vehicles it can reliably kill, because having insane firepower is the only way to counter the slow speed, large size and thin armour.

For example compared to SU-152 at 5.0 it is slower, larger, has no armour and can only fire HE. Rate of fire is its only real advantage and you want it to go at 7.3? What?

i think 7.0 or 7.3 (no difference really they all fight at 7.7 anyway) the bandkanons have a chance. their lack of speed really doesn't matter there as... well... can you see this thing being the tip of the spear? the HE shell is best suited for nuking cannon barrels and tracks (and with a fire rate of roughly 3 seconds on a 14-shot autoloader it can do that without fear) and then try for a shot trap or undercarriage shot. sure it's no T-54, but it can be a total nuisance with damaging parts and with the HE power expected of a 155mm cannon, is likely even better than the trolly HE shells on the T-64B.

Max velocity 850 m/s
Penetration based on in game shells etc should be around 56-59 mm.

What BR would you suggest for it? It's quite flexible in where it can go. Its armour is such that just about anything should be able to penetrate and kill it, it's not going to be quicke regardless of where you place it and HE of that power basically doesn't care about armour much, it's going to be able to kill just about anything. I guess it just depends on how highly you'd rate the high RoF.
