  1. 1. Would this vehicle be a good addition to the Soviet/Russian helicopter line?

The Kamov Ka-50 "Black Shark" (NATO reporting name Hokum) is a twin-rotor, single seat Russian attack helicopter.  It was originally designed in the late 1970s/early 1980s as a possible replacement for the Mil Mi-24, as the Soviet ministry of defense at the time were concerned that the troop-carrying capability of the Mi-24 reduced its effectiveness in the attack role and sought a pure attack helicopter design to address this issue.  The helicopter has a single pilot and no dedicated gunner to save weight and reduce size; the pilot is assisted by automated systems to allow him to fly and attack at the same time.  Survivability is emphasized in the design; the helicopter is armored with over 300kg of spaced aluminum plates that protect the pilot from shrapnel and up to 20mm cannon fire.  In addition to its armor protection the Ka-50 is a highly maneuverable helicopter, capable of performing loops, barrel rolls, and circle strafing.  It is also equipped with an ejection seat for the pilot; the rotor assembly, blades, and canopy are all fired off with explosive bolts before the seat deploys to keep the pilot from being turned into prosciutto.  It is heavily armed with a 30mm cannon and four underwing hardpoints that allow it to carry rocket pods, bombs, or up to 16 guided anti-tank missiles; it can also carry air-to-air missiles for defense against other helicopters or aircraft.  Two wingtip hardpoints carry chaff and flare pods to further improve survivability.

Continued modifications to the design and the fall of the Soviet Union delayed its introduction until 1995.  Military budget cuts after the fall of the Soviet Union prevented the Ka-50 from replacing the Mi-24 as had been intended, with the main army gunship role instead going to the Mi-28; however, the Ka-50 is the official support helicopter of the modern Russian special forces.

I think that the Ka-50 would make for an excellent top-tier attack helicopter for the Russian tree!  There are even more modern variants of this vehicle, but I think the original production model is advanced enough.

Yes. I adore Kamovs.  I'd love to see a little Kamov tree, maybe something among the lines of:

Ka-27PS
KA-29 (I made a request for this one myself)
Ka-50
Ka-52

And a V-80 prototype as a premium

Here's a picture of our requests flying together

Thanks for your support, and awesome picture!

Off course I want to see it. But with a decent level of details of the Systems and sensors...

E.g. instead of the fake ATGM targeting view can gaijin make the "Shkval" to work. By the way such type of sensors are needed in the game at least at a basic level for the up coming more advanced aircraft.

It's awesome!!! :D +1

What are the differences of Ka-50 and Ka-52? (other the double seat side by side)

The armaments looks similar

Just based on some quick research, the Ka-52 has compared to the Ka-50:

-Two crew in side-by-side seating instead of one.

-A more powerful engine.

-A vastly improved radar and infrared targeting and reconnaissance system.

-Six wing hardpoints instead of four.

-Reduced armor and fewer rounds for the 30mm cannon to save weight.

+1, only if we get a detailed version of that beautiful cockpit.

Too bad we can’t take these into Air Enduring Confrontations SB, I think helicopters would be extremely fun in high tier SB.
