  1. 1. Should this be in the game as the German 10.0 Helicopter?

  2. 2. Once French Helicopters are added, should this be added into the French Tree? (as this is a German and French made aircraft)

    • Yes - German and France
      131
    • No - Germany Only

Note that the German Tiger does not have a chin mounted 30mm auto cannon but instead had a top rotor mounted camera system, seen in the lower photos

What is the Tiger?
The Tiger is a multi role attack helicopter armed with a 30mm GIAT 30 chin mounted cannon. Tiger is a four-bladed, twin-engined attack helicopter which first entered service in 2003, in Germany and Australia it is known as the Tiger; in France and Spain it is called the Tigre.

Background about the Tiger.
Development of the Tiger started during the Cold War, and it was initially intended as an anti-tank helicopter platform to be used against a Soviet ground invasion of Western Europe. During its prolonged development period the Soviet Union collapsed, but France and Germany chose to proceed with the Tiger, developing it instead as a multirole attack helicopter. It achieved operational readiness in 2008.

France & West Germany
Creators of the aircraft, Germany using the UH Tiger whilst France using the Tiger HAD
Australia
2001 - On 21 December 2001, Eurocopter was awarded the contract to meet the Australian Army's "AIR 87 requirement" for 22 Tiger helicopters of the ARH (Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter) version, final aircraft arrived in 2011.
Spain
2003 - In September 2003, Spain selected a variant of the Tiger HAP combat support helicopter – the Tiger HAD – for its army. The 24 helicopters of this type would be armed with the PARS 3 LR and Mistral missile systems, and feature updated Enhanced MTR390 engines capable of lifting heavier payloads.

Main Weapon

Chin mounted cannon - GIAT 30 - 450 x 30mm
I was told by the head of Airbus in Australia when i went for my interview to be able to work on this amazing aircraft that the 30mm is able to pen 6 inches (150mm~) when using the APHEI rounds, i was unable to find what metal they tested against (Depleted Uranium, Cast or Rolled Homogeneous Armor or just plain steel/iron). I hope this helps.

Now lets get to the controversial and informal part which needs to be addressed
this is not meant to insult any member of the community or Gaijin developer or forum staff, this is my pure opinion and take it with a grain of salt. <3

- People will say this aircraft is too overpowered because of it's composite armour...that won't do anything against ATGMs from any tank/vehicle or aircraft, APFSDS any tank round can kill it. Just because the IRL version has composite armour that 23mm rounds can't pen doesn't mean it has to in-game, lets be real, no one knows what round they were using when they tested it against the armour as it's classified, anyone that does know is either breaching contract and military code or is a pure liar.
- If anyone says that all the weaponry that is listed above should be in the game should take a look at all the other vehicles ingame that are missing things (ammo mainly), this game doesn't need things like hellfires or air to air missiles RIGHT NOW, im sure they will come in the future when they are needed, but for right now, they aren't.
- for those who want this in the French tree, i agree as it is a French/German designed aircraft but just keep in mind that we're talking about Germany for this time, so please try to keep it like that for now

+1.

What about creating a separate suggestion for the French version ?

as :

from https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/430377-state-of-suggestions-from-naval-helicopter-cbt-sections-additional-info/

Otherwise, I'm sure someone else will certainly do it in a near future... ➙ duplication.

The composite really isn't that big a thing. Implying the helo has some sort of invulnerability shield around it because it has "some composite armour" (as I have seen some try to claim) is both inaccurate and overblown. If anything, the Tiger is lighter armoured than most modern attack helos.

It has a few panels of marginally resistant armour around the pilots from certain specific angles only. That's about it. In game terms it effectively is completely unarmoured. Not an issue.

Right now full on fire-and-forget is not a thing. So any missiles that don't have that are fine to go with.

Also remember the German one doesn't have the nose gun.

Well As Australia is part of the Commonwealth and there are Australian planes in the British tech tree it would of been nice to see a vote option for Germany, France and British (aka Aussies) even if just as a premium for the British (with Aussie flag/roundel) ;)

Well seeing how this is a 10.0 helicopter at least, i don't see this becoming a premium helicopter as that is around 9.0-9.7. and brits have their own attack heli for the main tree

Semi-automatic command to line of sight (SACLOS) is a method of missile command guidance. In SACLOS, the operator has to continually point a sighting device at the target while the missile is in flight. Electronics in the sighting device and/or the missile then guide it to the target.

By definition. Literally every helicopter with ATGM has a SACLOS system.

So can the following acknowledge this??

This helicopter was not in the April fools at all...ever. That was the AH-64D Apache and the Mi24 Hind, not the Tiger
I will do a post soon in the french tree when French helicopters are announced, as i said above, i do feel it needs to be in the french and german as it was designed by them, any other nation i feel should be a "down the line" thought (commonwealth tree - if it gets added i don't like the idea of it personally - and the spanish tree - if it gets added)
