so i'm 14 years old and in air RB under 4.7 i can get pretty good battles. Same with tank RB. But now, i unlocked my T-34-85 and Tiger H1 and I can't use them. I just jump into a battle, get rarely one kill and die. I watched hours of tutorials, used them effectively, but still, the enemy kills me from places that i can't see, im using the binoculars and everything regularly to spot but every time i get killed from nowhere. Another annoying thing is that when it comes to close encounters allways the other opponent faster than me.

Hi, you just need practice in said vehicles, keep playing and you'll get there. You need to learn the maps and know where the enemy will come from. Keep grinding, no matter how painful it is and you'll eventually get there.

t-34-85: Usually tigers, panthers, rarely m18s

Tigers: t-34-85s, 6.0 vehicles (the german 5.7+ br ratings really pisses me off)

just the usual stuff

You are experiencing what almost every single player experiences. You just have to go through it. There are some factors that you need to know. Which, i will point out. 1: You may have gone up the tech tree too fast. Your crew levels might not be developed enough to "see" enemies on the mini map that were spotted by friendlies (Your Radio man for this).

2:Learning Typical hiding spots for snipers. There are many common spots on the map that people will consistently go. you must learn these. Take note where you got killed from from on every map you play.

3: "Movement" look for movement. Trying to see a tank that is still and well hidden, bush'd up and good camo is hard to see. I detect movement more often then i see tanks

4: Don't sit in the open looking around. Hide somewhere, look, then move to another piece of cover. Look again.

5: Watch replays. Watch other players replays. Maybe from someone that killed you from an impossible spot or angle. Or select a good player you know of and watch his replays. This can teach you a lot.

 Hope this helps, good hunting

Don't worry m8, I've had countless struggles in my time playing the game. You'll just have to get over it somehow. Good luck. I don't know much about tanks but I've reached and unlocked my first 2 jets. I'm currently focusing on tanks in the British army (start of tier 3).

Right then, hard to say "why" exactly given so little info to go on but in case you come back here looking again, I'll add my twopence as a fellow player new to the game but somewhat familiar with the mechanics and history of AFV combat in the real world.

The possible causes for the "killed by someone I couldn't see" phenomenon has been partially explained by user crimfobic in a post above, here I'll just add that the enemy could have been shooting through whatever cover you might be behind, if that is only "light" cover such as bushes, fences etc.  These block your line of sight (LoS) but don't greatly affect the ballistics of or trigger any explosive warhead on a typical tank shell of that era.  In the case of AP shells, a warhead is not a concern and Allied tankers quickly found that hiding behind small wooden structures or even heavy bushes was not much protection from the high-velocity AP rounds the Germans were chucking around.

As for the "faster than me" bit, that's been partially covered by another post as well and I'll just suggest that perhaps in some situations, especially with the larger tanks, it may be faster to turn the entire vehicle than to try to turn the turret.  Another reason to do this is that, as you may have learned or known, having your frontal armor toward the enemy is generally a good idea anyway. If you're stationary it's not as much help but still some, and if you're moving even at a modest (less than 10kph) I think you'll find it makes a huge difference in how quickly you can get "steel on target".  Truth of it is, imo unless I am really absolutely confident of the enemy not knowing my location, I don't like to sit still for very long at all anyway. Reload time would be another most likely cause I can think of.  Again, I'm new here too so take all of this with a handful rather than grain of salt.

All for now.  That may have been too much already but hope it helps you some, or someone else.

Err...if player got to br5.7 ok I am assuming he knows most (if not all) suggestions made...

I would guess problem is more related to the opposition quality have improved...less players get to 5.7...mixed with the need to learn the new vehicles "tricks"
