History

Before World War 2, lots of countries build gunboats to patrol Chinese Yangtze river. Japanese build 11 gunboats, and 9 gunboats in active when start of Pacific war. Because of it the first naval battle of Pacific war is on Yangtze River.

Chinese river gunboats is as on-river consulate, so Japanese one have good communication radio, pure-white paint and Chrysanthemum emblem. This emblem is only for "Warship/ Gunkan" (軍艦), so Destroyers or smaller did not have it.

 

Fushimi class gunboat is Improved model of Atami class, and it become the last class of Japanese gunboat. This boat is the first Japanese gunboat that using turbine, and equip Magnetic compass. Also this boat have armor to prevent machine guns.

Japanese gunboats Nomenclature is Scenic spots.

Fushimi is known shrine with thousands of Torii, and Sumida river is known fireworks and Sakura.

November 15, 1939: 1st Chinese dispatch fleet 11th Squadron

March 1, 1940: Incorporated to Middle reaches patrol unit, land Navy landing forces on 石灰窰. (Hubei Province)

April 1, 1941: Incorporated to Upper stream patrol unit. Patrol Hankou-Yueyang area.

June 18, 1941: Reach to Shanghai. in 21 entering a dock, 28 leave a dock.

August 11, 1941: Incorporated to 1st Chinese dispatch fleet.

December 19, 1941: Leave Hankou, support Army's operation.

December 30, 1941: Land Navy landing force to Chenglingji. Attack "Xīnhékǒu" (新河口).

January 15, 1942: Compared to Upper stream patrol unit. Patrol Hankou.

April 1, 1942: Compared to Middle stream patrol unit. Patrol 石灰窰 area.

July 3, 1942: Leave Hankou to escort Gunboat Sumida. July 7 reach to Jiangnan.

July 10, 1942: Entering a dock. 24 leave a dock. August 2 leave Shanghai to compared to Middle stream patrol unit. Patrol 石灰窰 area.

March 25, 1943: Compared to Shanghai patrol unit. Patrol Hankou area.

August 20, 1943: Compered to Yangtze special garrison. Reached to Shanghai to repair.

September 4, 1943: Compared to Lower stream patrol unit. Patrol Anqing area.

November 10, 1943: Compared to Upper stream patrol unit. Patrol and attack Dongting Lake area to base Hankou.

November 26, 1944: Aground by aircraft attack at Anqing.

After war: Captured by ROC navy and named 江鳳 (Jiangfeng?).

June 10, 1941: Reach to Shanghai. 11 entered a dock, 18 leave a dock.

June 31, 1941: Leave Shanghai. Patrol Hankou-石灰窰 area.

August 11, 1941: Compared to 1st Chinese dispatch fleet.

April 1, 1942: Compared to Upper stream patrol unit. Patrol Yueyang area.

June 22, 1942: Attacked by aircraft and damaged at Chenglingji. 12 crew killed.

September 7, 1942: Reached to Shanghai. 10 entered a dock, and 25 Leave a dock.

August 19, 1942: Leave Shanghai, compared to Lower stream patrol unit. Patrol Anqing area.

August 20, 1943: Compared to Yangtze special garrison.

August 20, 1943: Reached to Jiangnan to add armor.

September 1, 1943: Compared to Middle stream patrol unit. September 4 leave Jiangnan to patrol Hankou.

June 22, 1944: Attacked by aircraft at upper stream from Hankou. 8 crews include captain killed.

October 10, 1944: Compared to Chinese area fleet 1st gunboat group.

November 25, 1944: Attacked by aircraft at Anqing and get slightly damage.

January 1, 1945: Compared to Chinese area fleet 22nd gunboat group.

March 10, 1945: Compared to Chinese area fleet 21st gunboat group.

March 10, 1945: Patrol shanghai ~ Estuary of Yangtze area until end of the war.

After war: Captured by ROC navy and named Chianghsi (江犀).

1949: Surrender to PLA navy and named Fujiang (涪江)

1960s: Retired

 

In game

It have very shallow draft so it is easy to cruise boats battle area. It have three rudders, so it have good mobility.

Weapon is not enough for this size of hull, but twin 25mm machine gun with shield will very useful.

There are two boiler in Column and two engine in each side of hull.

No offense, but it gives me the feeling of what a paddle boat would look like after Mad Max got his hands on it :D

But I like the looks of it.

 

The deck is so low to the water, and with the shallow draft too, she might actually give people a spot of trouble so this may be fun to explore some asymmetrical tactics with  +1
