"an error occurred" mac

I have been playing war thunder on my (pretty old) MacBook for a couple weeks without issue.

Today I opened to launcher and it displayed "an error occurred" above the loading bar.

 

So far I've tried:

Restarted computer

Reinstalling (combined with restarting as well)

"Check files" in launcher settings

Deleting all associated files and THEN reinstalling

 

One thing I noticed while reading other threads was that the game application itself inside the folders give me this message if I try and open it,

"You can’t open the application “WarThunder” because it may be damaged or incomplete."

 

Can anyone help me work this out? I was just starting to really get into this game.

The last patch had that  zoom problem now this, I've tried literally everything possible and it keeps giving me the same thing as yours. It will probably be like a few days before it gets addressed

I guess it makes me a feel a bit better that I'm not the only one >.<
Fingers crossed it gets fixed soon.

If it does, they better compensate my premium account, and if I lose my box opening streak...well, theres 270+ days down the drain

also, not that I'll buy it, but if they take too long to fix then some people wont be able to buy that p47

Also, why does it take so long for them to fix mac stuff?

I mean, that bug where the cursor glitches around the screen has been around for months

and my screen resolution has been glitched for near a week now..

Me too at 4.00 a.m. today. Now 6.20 p.m. and still the same "error occurred!!

Same problem Here not happy trying to log on all day and all I get is "an error occurred" after more than 300 days straight and now I will lose all that please fix fast, Pc owner don't have these issues that we do, If it's not broken don't fix it. have a wonderful day, just frustrated.  PS have tried on to seperate Mac's so the issue is your end.

here are two workarounds....

 

1. open the laucher, when the error occured go to the launcher settings (wrench icon in the top right corner) and click on the 'check files' button.

    once the launcher is done checking the play button should turn red and you should be able to start the game (however your client will be

    slightly outdated)

 

2. download the latest warthunder yup file from one of the links mentioned in the launcher logs... like this one for instance:

    https://aws-yup-distr-04.gaijinent.com/117efcb43cf23dc02d137e868a898ffc7d6a3289.yup

    once downloaded rename that file to warthunder.yup and copy / move it to the location where the warthunder.yup currently is (overwriting the

    existing one) and then start the launcher - it should update the game and when it's done you can run the game (on the latest game version)

 

the provided link (and the name of the file) will change on every client patch so this specific link will not work on the next patch !

Brilliant - going the .yup route solved the issue. Thank you very much.

A tad annoying that so many people had the same problem after yesterday's update, but glad someone suggested a way to correct it - just hope the news gets out. There are a lot of people who are now stuck unable to launch the game. Sadly not everyone checks the forums.

sorry, i dont know tbh because i dont own a Mac and i dont know the directory / folder structure of the Mac OSX... i do know however that the location

will be difinitely different ones when you use the standalone client or the Steam client... in any way i think there is a way to 'search' for specific files on

the Mac OS finder which should be able to locate the warthunder.yup (or maybe a fellow Mac user can help out on this).

actually i guess that it's ALL Mac users (but only those) as this seem to be some sort of SSL (certificate ?!) issue which only seem to happen on the 

Mac OSX.... i have no clue about how this works ^^ but the developers are aware of the issue and i'm sure they'll find a way to fix it (eventually =/)

 

just assumption though... i could be completely wrong oO but as long as there is a workaround to get everyone playing (especially on a weekend)

i dont have any probem being wrong in the end 8D

Applications>WarThunderLauncher.app (right click and select "Show Package Contents") then Contents>WarThunder.app (right click and select "Show Package Contents") then Contents>Resources>game and the warthunder.yup file will be in there.

so I'm in the game file and the only things in there is "config.blk" and another contents file with "pkg.English.rq2"

Odd, not sure where you've gone.

I've looked and I can't (at the moment) find a folder with just the two files you mention. Are you sure you've taken the right route?

Wow, I think it has been fixed by devs...

 

I just read back through the posts, the tricks that seem to work for others there did not for me.

 

Just like Explode, mine is re downloading... I don't know if it's fixed, but its definitely a new progression of events!

Hello, the new patch solve the problem for "an error occured" but still have the zoom issue on the screen, i cannot play for already one week, means already one week withour premium.

i ve tried to return to his game after many months... i gave up because mac support so poor,,,

 

tried to download game.... error occurred.,,

 

tried settings as above,,,,an error occurred..

 

tried yup,,, nothing will open that file,,,,

 

realised why i left in the first place,,, back to to my other mac friendly games...
