I know im late here, but along with this, you can also go directly to the launcher terminal and it should fix it and start downloading.

My launcher was freezing while "Checking Files" - It ran briefly after finally finding and ditching 'yup' files. It worked briefly then this morning I tried to get in again and it did its "Checking Files" freeze again.

Don't open the file- trash that sucker - when it goes through 'checking files', it seems to just make a new one that works. It did for me a couple times now. I still get crashes and freezes but It's intermittent.

after many tries i can't find yup file and check files fix doesn't work for me 

i guess its just my luck:/

And more than a year later, this thing happens with 1.93. I haven’t played in a week because of this

Reset the cache. 

Warthunder launcher/contents/warthunder/contents/ressource/cache and delete all docs.

You lost your configuration and it's okay.
