Metal not working and problems with FPS

I’m having problems selecting Metal as my rendering option. Changing the rendering setting from auto/OpenGL to Metal isn’t doing anything despite my Mac supporting it. I’ve already tried both the Steam and regular version of the launcher. I even edited the config.blk file (renderer2:t=“metal”; driver:t=“metal”) but the game still uses OpenGL. This problem has been present since I started playing again on High Sierra around one week ago.

After upgrading my Mac to the last version of Mojave a new problem appeared. My frame rate has always been stable both in Ultra low quality and low settings before the update (always more than 30 in low and way more in ULQ), now while the FPS counter constantly shows the same values the games appears to suffer heavy sluttering depending on where or what I’m looking.

The strange thing is that the FPS counter is not dropping at all and I had no such problems before updating my OS.

Did some more testing and found another bug caused by the Mojave update. The mouse is no longer detecting small movements, for example when zooming in a tank. Playing ground forces now is impossible.

Not sure if this is caused by the constant stuttering or other problems.

I too have this problem, terrible performance using macOS Mojave but the indicator shows high FPS. Same attempted fixes, same result. As for the small movements, I haven't noticed it myself but I haven't looked very hard.

I use the launcher, no steam.

I as well have this problem, but, it freezes and crashes constantly. I can only sometimes play Ground Forces without crashes.

I do not use steam, I use the official launcher.

I'm having this exact issue with mac War Thunder-

Since about 1.85 or maybe coincide with Mojave?

FPS meter on the bottom of the screen displays around 50-60 fps, actual fps probably like 1-15 in game. I had previously always ran the game in ULQ, and it performed decently. I've tried all monitor resolutions, switched between Metal and OpenGL, everything at minimum, run in both steam and standalone, nothing affects the horrendous frame rate.

Having same issues ever since updating to Mojave, this has gone on for at least a month, it has to be fixed, the game is unplayable now.

I hope for a speedy solution, 10 months from 1 post inspire pessimism....
