Welcome, I'm here to suggest a nice addition to the game, that would be great to be in the beginning Tier 6 Italian Tech Tree.

The F-86D 'Sabre Dog' was first designed in the march of 1949, under the prototype name 50-577, of which first flew on the 22nd of December, 1949. This was a plane designed around the "Mighty Mouse" Folding-Fin Aerial Rocket. This later became the F-86D, which was a jet designed for the interception of bombers, where it would climb to great altitudes and take them down with the fuselage mounted rockets. While it was extremely similar to the original F-86 "Sabre"; having the slab elevator, a drag chute in the rear, and a nose instead of a full intake, and one other major difference: the J47-GE-17B engine. The engine itself was less powerful dry than the older-brother's, but had the ability to go after-burn, where it would have almost 2600 lbf more thrust than its counterpart.

Later into its design, it was proposed to be given 4 20 mm cannons to make it a capable fighter/interceptor, from which the F-86K was made from. The F-86K added the four 20mm M24A1 cannons in replacement of the rocket pod, an APG-37 nose radar, and the MG-4 fire control system, as well as slight adjustments to the fuselage to compensate for the different center of gravity. The MG-4 fire control system was implemented with not only the ability to lock targets, then track them for accurate leading, it also stabilized the plane in flight and during combat, making it much easier to fly overall. Given the already powerful after-burning engine, this made the plane a good choice as a fighter; now with the four 20 mm cannons, it was more than capable of tearing through other aircraft accurately. This aircraft was also capable of carrying a pair of the early AIM-9B Sidewinder missiles that we already have in the game on the F-100D "Super Sabre". It started production in 1955, and Italy's Fiat company was a primary producer of this aircraft, actually producing more of them than the US, from which it then exported them across Europe.

The F-86K in War Thunder would provide the role of fighter interceptor for Italy, and would be (preferably) the first Italian aircraft with guided AA missiles. Given it was produced primarily by the Fiat company, I feel it would fit well in the Italian Tech Tree. While it is extremely maneuverable and extremely fast for a sub-sonic aircraft, it would probably be a more difficult plane to fly, as it would be much easier to rip the plane from pure speed because of the improved engine.

It’s kinda ridiculous that France got this plane before Italy, especially since most of the French (and German) F-86Ks were built in Italy by FIAT. I really don’t see why they couldn’t just make a dev blog highlighting its international use, with pictures of the Italian, French and German F-86Ks, and add them to all three trees at the same time. Italy really needs more jet fighters, and this is one of the most important ones they used. It can’t come soon enough.
