F3H-2 Demon

Welcome; today I'm here to recommend a new aircraft for the American naval-fighter line, the F3H-2, also known as, 'The Demon'. Not to be confused with the F3H-2N or F3H-2M, this is a model that combined the ability of the -N and -M for carrying missiles, while adding additional payload, along with the upgraded engine of the second iteration of the series. This vehicle would provide a real plane for the gap between subsonic and supersonic in the American naval-fighter line.

The F3H-2's design started with the F3H-1 in 1949. This was designed as the first swept-wing naval fighter of McDonnell Douglas, and was made to counter the new Mig-15 of the Soviet Union. This design however came extremely late, with the production model only being first flown in early 1953. This flight showed major flaws; whether it be an abysmal Power-to-Weight ratio, or a multitude of malfunctions, this plane was deemed a complete failure, and a majority of the F3H-1 models were never even flown, destined to become museum set pieces. However, instead of changing the design completely, they doubled down on it, adding the Allison J-71-A-2 engine, and adding the capability to use the AIM-9 Sidewinders, and the AIM-7 Sparrow medium-range Air-to-Air missile. The Allison J-71 engine was a huge boost in power, going from 7,900 lbf (dry) 10,900 lbf (afterburner), to 9,700 lbf (43.25 kN, dry) and a whopping 14,750 lbf (65.77 kN, afterburner). This decision to keep with the design allowed them to make simple modifications to the F3H-1, rather than having to make a complete redesign, allowing them to salvage a lot of the production process from the -1 model. This did however make an issue with the time it was able to be deployed, which was delayed all the way to 1956, long past the end of the Korean war. The plane, while it didn't see any action, did support other aircraft in performing intimidation maneuvers over the pacific for the Soviets.

The F3H-2 in War Thunder will pose as the gateway to supersonic aircraft for the american naval fighter tree, and would be the first aircraft capable of carrying the medium-range A2A missiles, the AIM-7 Sparrows. This would also be the fastest subsonic plane in the game, with a top speed of 1152 km/h with full afterburner at sea level.

I support the Demon! But the suggestion is missing a lot of vital or needed info.

The more familiar designations for the Sparrow I, II and III are the AIM-7A, AIM-7B and AIM-7C.

Because this F3H carries Sparrows, and four at once, it is the F3H-2M specifically.

I don't have time to write everything so here's the manual http://www.avialogs.com/index.php/en/aircraft/usa/mcdonnell/f-3demon/3682f3h-2mstandardaircraftcharacteristics-15may1955.html

This assures your suggestion is good and the developers will consider it if they pass it to them :)

+1

This is simply the F3H-2, of which was later designated as the F-3B, which was a project for combining the -M and -N model's capabilities

Why not suggest the production one then?

What do you mean by that? There were 239 of the F3H-2 produced.

You said it's a project so therefore a prototype (?)

The one you're suggesting is the F3H-2M. The F3H-2 didn't have Sparrows.

A. Project means that it was once a project, as in it was in development. That doesn't mean it was never released for full production.

B. then what about the image i already showed of the F3H-2 carrying sparrows, as well as this one?
