The Polikarpov TIS was a prototype Soviet heavy fighter designed and built in 1940.  It had a modern, all-metal, monocoque fuselage, a twin tail, and an armored canopy for the two-man crew, consisting of a pilot and a gunner who could man either a dorsal or ventral ShKAS machine gun in a flexible mount.  The wings had leading-edged slats for better low-speed maneuverability.  The first prototype had a heavy armament of four 7.62mm ShKAS guns in the nose, and two 12.7mm machine guns and two 20mm cannons in the wing roots.  This prototype was dogged with stability issues and unreliable engines and the program stagnated until 1942, when a second prototype was built, mounting more powerful engines and a stronger armament incorporating two 37mm or 45mm cannons in the wing roots for a heavier punch.  Unfortunately, the death of Nikolai Polikarpov and a crash of the second prototype due to a landing gear failure lead to the cancellation of the program.

Either prototype of the TIS would make for a great addition to the Soviet heavy fighter tree!

Is that literally just a fighter prototype Peshka?

I'm in....... I always wanted to fight 190s and 109s in a peshka armed to the teeth with cannons and MGs

+1 here.

Also as for both prototypes, I'm conflicted..... I'd love to see both in the game, but I don't know which one should inevitably be the premium..... Best case, they both end up in the regular tree.

Not even close.  The Pe-2 was made by a different company.

In any event, I'm pretty sure this was suggested in the past, but the old thread might've been purged.

Neat!  I'll have to pick mine up!

They've gone with the second prototype's armament, I see.
