Can you launch War Thunder without Steam

Can you launch War Thunder without having to open steam.  I think steam is messing up my ability to use my VR headset by forcing a steam launch and I want to try without steam and see if it will work.

just run the launcher.exe directly in the game folder... it should not even matter whether Steam is running in the background or not.

as long as the game is not getting started from Steam it usually does not use any Steam features (like the Steam overlay or the

Steam login etc).

you could even create a new desktop shortcut from / to the launcher.exe (in the Steam games folder) so you can either start the

game via Steam with all the Steam features or directly from the launcher (without Steam features).

however like mentioned above running the game directly (without Steam) you wont have a Steam login button so you'd need a

Gaijin account (or maybe the account details you are getting send when you bind an email address to your Steam account can be

used to login to the game ?! i dont know) https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us/articles/209617049-Binding-a-Steam-account-to-your-e-mail-address-

The above answers it.

I am launching Warthunder via aces.exe and have been doing that for many years now.

Personally for me its Steam library --> steamapps --> common --> War Thunder --> Win64

It means you don't have to run steam in the background.

Answered & Locked. :salute:
