History

M6A1-K "Seiran Kai" is a ground-based trainer that based M6A1 "Seiran". Sometimes this plane also called "Nanzan", but actually it was early plan name of Seiran, so name of this plane in game should be Seiran Kai.

M6A1 Seiran was submarine-based attacker. At first they plan to equip 250 kg bombs to attack enemy merchant ship but by the order of Grand Fleet its usage changed to equip 800 kg bombs or torpedoes to surprise attack enemy fleet in anchorage.

But to equip 800 kg bombs or torpedoes, need to remove its float so they need ground-based trainer for pilots.

This plane equip landing gear taken from Suisei or Type 97 that produced by Aichi, and folding mechanism omitted.

In the plan this plane build 5.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Faster than B5N

Cons

  • Did not have fixed machine guns
  • Gear folding speed will be slow (Man powered)

+1 Would love to see this in-game. I always thought the M6A's were awesome.

Normally I'm against frontally unarmed light bombers like this...but with the 800 kg bomb or 1 torpedo loadout, it'd be no worse-armed than Japan's medium bombers in terms of payload, while being faster, effectively a straight upgrade over the B5N2.
