  1. 1. Should the radar display and compass heading be removed when the radar is turned OFF?

Problem:

With many (if no most) air battles taking place in clear weather, the radar is of little or no use; turning it off or on makes no real difference in combat performance. Yet the radar display and compass heading is always displayed regardless of the radar being off or on, cluttering up the screen.

Suggestion:

When radar (on aircraft) is OFF, the radar display and compass heading is removed from the screen. Instead a small icon (such as a green radar dish or similar) is displayed in the corner of the screen to remind the player that this aircraft has radar. Switching the radar ON will result in the radar display and compass heading appearing on screen. This will clear unnecessary clutter from the screen unless the player actually needs to use the radar.

So want this. Tried out the F6F-5N with its new radar and at least in arcade its completely pointless and acts like a spastic bunny when its on because it cycles so fast. Its probably useful in realistic or on vehicles with a lock range of more than 1km but if you're not using the radar it would be really nice if it didn't just take up a huge chunk of the left side of your screen.

The option to disable aircraft radar HUD should definitely be added as soon as possible. For example, radar gunsights, found on the F-86F, CL-13, MiG-19S, Hunter, Swift, Scimitar, and other planes, are completely useless in most situations and will very rarely be utilized at all. Despite this, the radar HUD is always shown on the screen. The compass heading element is nearly on top of the crosshair in third-person view, severely obstructing the view forwards and potentially ruining fights with enemy aircraft. Due to this, radar is nothing more than an unwanted hindrance for many aircraft that have it. Adding insult to injury, choosing the "Minimal" HUD option in battle interface settings hides all the essential indicators in the upper left corner of the screen, but not any of the radar elements. Overall, more than a year after its introduction, the radar system still seems to be completely unfinished when it comes to its visual representation.

Consensus reached.

Not sure why players neee to suggest these simple yet obvious quality of life improvements that Gaijin shouldve done in the first place.

This needs to happens:

In order for such suggestions to be pushed ASAP to devs by suggestion moderators.

Right now this is competing against every other suggestion for a monthly slot which is pretty bad considering a lot of stuff just like this could be implemented by a developer within mere minutes.
